The Image!

Arriving at work it was five in the morning

at a London underground station.

Following the same routine over the years

without any experiences before.

In respect of a ghostly confrontation

anywhere on this station!

He had heard of reported spectral sightings

being on the security team.

But not seen anything on his row of screens

until this very unusual day!

The platforms were empty at this early hour

as they turned on the power.

As he sat down this is when he  first saw

the image on one screen!

A shape of an object walking on the line

then as quickly it was gone!

Shaken he could only stare at the monitor

he had seen something for sure.

On another screen there were more shapes

on the platform near the tunnel!

Now he made his way down from the office

to see if it was intruders.

Calling a colleague for back up and support

an explination they sought.

Feeling jittery in the chilly fast-moving air

the odd rat scurrying around.

When they arrived nothing was in view

but had to make sure it was clear.

After a thorough search nobody was found

on that stretch of the underground!

Feeling uncomfortable went back to his post

deciding to review the tapes.

Not a single image had been caught as proof

maybe it was a technical fault!

Until once more by the tunnel it was there

a blurred face at him it did stare!

Then it vanished once more!
