making us feel ever inferior

with stories of perpetual destruction

reports of endless warfare

unsettling and dividing our opinions

and continuous attacks

even our neighbours began to mistrust

as disturbing images on us thrust!

 

With increasing threats of society collapse

pollution low energy resources

because of mankind’s vast overpopulation

stories of evil overlords planning

to eliminate vast numbers of the population

an alien invasion was immanent

tsunamis and earthquakes rapidly increased

blitz on humanity never ceased!

 

Millions oblivious wrapped up in the technology

artificial intelligence ruled

the electromagnetic fields surrounded us all

there was no work to do

yet there was a complete control no freedom

a growing anxiety of existing

anger and rebellion disrupted the false order

once more in human history disorder!

 

That overwhelming instinct of dissent exploded

as the belief in authority was again eroded!

Perpetual!

Perpetual wars ravage the battered ground

graves littered with the bones

of billions of corpses with countless tales

each could tell of their misery

harrowing demise through the carnage

of ever fed human rage!

 

Easily led and guided through their traditions

beliefs by convincing leaders

able to cultivate the hate and violence within

assistants given to promote

inflaming conflicts so they  rapidly expand

to once peaceful and friendly land!

 

Poverty covers large parts of a weary earth

scared with the warfare

as the environment adds to the desperation

a cataclysmic scenario nears

as the mega rich in their mighty towers rule

oversee us so arrogant and cruel!

 

What is the truth that surely has yet to be told

what deceptions existed

that we have assumed were honestly authentic

what is there actually to fear

as each day brings another unnerving suspicion

society heads towards decomposition!

 

Resources dwindling the population on overload

communications expanding

not for the reconciliation of a peaceful civilisation

as death and warfare boosted

technology advancing faster than we understand

life now for most is no wonderland!

Warfare!

Warfare in the twenty-first century

brought on a bigger threat.

Weapons to obliterate mankind

many stand on the line.

Antagonists looking at each other

once called them brother!

 

Tension was high no more rifles

or small cannons to fire.

But huge deadly arsenals ready

without a second thought.

To wipe whole civilisations away

for domination to display!

 

Never ending conflicts few remember

those times of peace.

Refuges constantly torn from homes

and the threat of violence.

Disrupting chances to bloom and grow

natural balances cannot flow!

 

Often many opposing forces are on alert

each thinking they are right.

Glaring at radar screens from a distance

as the ground is mined.

Lives forever lost as time drifts onward

where nobody wants accord!

 

Will man ever learn before the bomb drops?
