Pursuit!

From a side street the powerful car skidded

into the teeming traffic

a police cruiser blues and two’s in pursuit

other vehicles swerving

causing chaos on the metropolis streets

where man and machine meets!

 

A murder had occurred  in a rough district

an urgent call was made

the unit arrived too late to preserve a life

observing two perpetrators

fired automatic weapons in their direction

officers dived to find protection!

 

The killers caused mayhem trying to escape

hitting countless vehicles

whether moving or stationary mattered not

they needed to change cars

being parked close to their present position

the next move needed precision!

 

Helicopters and many law agency vehicles

closed in on their location

the desperate men sped across a busy park

by the skin of their teeth

missed a boating lake got out near a fence

through undergrowth dense!

 

Two sports motor bikes were there waiting

in seconds both raced away

their exit planned headed down into sewers

no way could they be caught

their target a gang boss the most malevolent

countless deaths by his consent!

 

As they disappeared down into the murky depths

few knew both were agents

sent by a covert police authority to assassinate

and this was all preplanned

there were more targets on a volatile wanted list

dangers high with death they kissed!
