Abandoned!

They stood excitedly eager to enter this hospital

abandoned for decades left to rot

it was their advanced site visit for safety checks

known to being in poor repair

two members had volunteered to venture here

feeling the oppressive atmosphere!

 

Two members were on-call if they were needed

though experienced apprehensive

both putting on protective masks and goggles

because of the toxic asbestos dust

knowing what many witnesses had seen inside

certain it would be no joyride!

 

Freezing pitch black Halloween a few days away

sensed the activity in the air

no power on within the building long disconnected

had their bright head torches

with a map of the layout cautiously they explored

the increasing sounds could not be ignored!

 

Treading carefully on the unstable decaying flooring

stood where a nurse had hung herself

decades before was it imagination or really a shadow

swinging the sound of taunt rope

their breath visible in their torch-light a tingle upon

their cold skin but determined to plow on!

 

Had intended to separate but their unease was strong

out of the corner of the girls eye

saw a sudden motion and pain on her covered back

on examination her friend could see

deep scratches that grew as he watched mesmerized

the phenomena in his mind analyzed!

 

Both excited at the activity yet becoming concerned

decided to retrace their steps

a cry and doors banging came from every direction

it was as though they were targeted

an object in the darkness skimmed passed their heads

this their nerves tore to shreds!

 

Seasoned paranormal investigators fled the building

had managed to take a few pictures

keeping a night camera  running for the entire time

which later with the rest of the team

discovered disturbing unexplained images and voices

giving them for their visit stark choices!

 

On All Hallows Eve set off to investigate this tormented site!
