Sensation!

Could not shake off the daunting sensation

drowning breathing in air

agitated at every sound and movement

shadows seemed to follow me

many voices in my head screamed so loud

nothing there yet felt in a crowd

ripples in reality as everything was blurred

forces of good and evil stirred!

Weather becoming unpredictable everywhere

strange patterns in the skies

earths life force rapidly bleeding outward

huge cracks spreading below

population uncertain of safety and stability

raging storms of deadly carnage

there were no havens to hide in the surface

not a single untainted space!

Fires raged and ravaged more than ever before

law and order disintegrated

crimes of violence grew as money diminished

the fabric of society so fragile

the weary masses caught within this time slip

reeling from wars and harsh rule

uncertain each day what would happen next

had it been written in an ancient text?

Daily life an unpredictable lottery for survival!

Edge of Chaos!

Life seemed to be on the edge of chaos

misery was spreading

with the upsurge in gutter poverty

and that haunting stare

wherever you walked beggars pleading

their will to live receding!

Arriving home one evening there sitting

on my porch step a man

this was my first impression nearing

its shape changed before me

coming to a halt uncertain what to expect

hostility began to detect!

For what seemed minutes it did not move

then crawled out of view

cautiously approached there was a stain

green and foul-smelling

avoiding the substance yet very aware

that it was right there!

Instinct made me turn feeling a presence

the mass was at my back

just managed to escape its fateful grasp

crashing to the flower bed

running from my own house petrified

for me nowhere to hide!

From their desperation they were created

an abominable creation of beast

were mutated by the pollution and poverty

until that moment had never seen

just an urban legend until we collided

my emotions deeply divided!

Illusions gone discovering it was real not fiction

these predators humans mutated

the population grew it became an affliction

as poverty divided rich from poor

once like me a human living with family ties

with all the hidden deceits and lies!

Life was chaos nights became a fight for our survival!

The Year!

The year could be any that we may remember

the increasing violence a way of life

caused by mankind’s hand and natures power

conflicts refugees from far-flung shores

as armies invaded increasingly country borders

a new president adding to the mix

with discourse expanding throughout society

heightened that loss of security

surveillance being taken to paranoid extremes

unknown forces facing humanity

with only the few living in debauched luxury

more failed to cope with surviving

depression and suicide alarmingly escalating

new year hangovers remained the year

ahead lay uncertainty of humanities true path

as that darkness gripped the soul

a confusion had tightly entwined itself around

our chemical makeup as genders merged

evil became the way of thinking

suspicion of each other like a sickness spread

leading too many innocent dead

media outlets given scripted news for us to view

most of it later discovered untrue

reality becoming a 3D game all were consumed

the right of the individual forever doomed!

Lived!

They had lived here for thousands of years

generation born and died

in their culture with happiness and unity

there was nothing to fear

but the worry of drought or torrential rain

communities to sustain!

Risk of bandits or disputes with neighbours

but problems resolved together

or through compromise and code of honour

the children knew freedom

no hatred cruelty wars nor sense of despair

where there was mercy and care!

They could each exist with their own free will

until settlers came to call

no understanding for the native inhabitants

what they wanted cruelly took

driving them off their ancient and sacred land

where each made their last stand!

From then on that tranquillity and peace gone

that virgin land ripped apart

the resources gauged out for power and profit

from the earth they loved

live stock slaughtered their paradise now taken

from their inherited culture did awaken!

Survival death and misery would be their future!

Free!

Within the once vast and open wilderness

where wild animals were free

passing their lives without intervention

from hunters and seekers of land

killing the prey for their breeds survival

fearing no human arrival!

No more their security and safety assured

as the numbers rapidly dwindle

some becoming extinct as the killing excels

left to die in agony and pain alone

poachers only interest the profits they make

not the misery they create!

The rich and ruthless have no mercy to give

for any destruction of animal life

nor the ever advancing human colonisation

and their shrinking habitation

creatures who should live and be protected

by many their rights not respected!

Man thinks on earth he is the superior being

not caring species are rapidly disappearing!

Few!

Few humans through history have stood out

not thought as a god or dictator

but a man of great integrity and true vision

able to communicate with dignity

bringing nations and cultures together as one

for peace and cooperation to be won!

Racial religious and stubborn attitudes beaten

for us to realise we are the same

humans living together and harmony essential

for our survival from hostilities

where unity is our only salvation to survive

and we are glad to be alive!

Few can be loved and respected like this man

a gift to bring people together

strength to face any adversity that goes on

even after his passing from life

we can only hope that his legacy will prevail

so onward moves the peace trail!
