Crashed!

His senses and vision were even better

even though he had aged

estimated three hundred earth years

since his craft had crashed

on this planet had to blend in or die

with a savage culture comply!

Near a mountain top in undergrowth

overtime had hidden his craft

such a long lonely existence he found

females but they withered

as he waited to contact his own race

from a distant planet in space!

Few visitors came to see him here

he was treated with suspicion

though he mastered their language

he felt no real bond with them

lived like a loner until he had urges

he was male with sexual surges!

Observing knew they were violent

a breed who he did not trust

now weary as they had advanced

rapidly with their technology

over such a short evolution span

since his exile still no plan!

His crafts equipment mostly destroyed

fears he could be detected

muted by the hope to find the means

of sending a signal home

a reluctant witness of man’s carnage

and unrelenting rage!

Now into the sixties watched landings

upon the earth’s only moon

it gave him the determination to try

cautiously gathered items

to make a transmitter to emit a signal

how long would be his vidual?

Unaware that he had drawn attention

the country’s secret service

had started watching his every move

he continued with excitement

using any viable components he found

hoping to hear a friendly sound!

Deep in thought and a finding meaning

to a long unwanted existence

turned on the newly constructed beacon

cried out with joy as it worked

he could only wait now in hope of success

had to leave this planet

but closing in was a military raiding team

would they shatter his dream?

The evening was approaching wet so cold

he could feel within himself

danger was coming knowing the sounds

around after such a long term

staring at the lit screen willing for a reply

here did not want to die!

His cabin was surrounded by armed men

also at that moment it happened

a beep blared from his crude made device

green flashing light and indicator

a faint sound also told him it was his race

his signal they were able to trace!

Heard the faint footsteps of somebody close

escaped through a tunnel

as the cabin was raided he headed away

with no intention to be caught

after living without detection for this long

could not let anything go wrong!

Reaching his ship set the self-destruction

peering into the skies could see

a speeding object heading to his location

this was the rescue ship

to take him home then hovered overhead

a beam shone his clothes shed!

Instantly elevated into the circular disk

and then the craft was gone

soldiers were upon the scene aimlessly

firing rapidly into vacant air

a huge explosion and fireball detonated

the area and men obliterated!

The alien was at last back with his own race

homeward in the vacuum of space!

Jean!

There the elderly woman sat staring

watching the daily surge

of humanity walking and driving by

not able now to converse

within their own perpetual routine

few ever noticed Jean!

When she was young an open space

a village small so quaint

there with parents and four siblings

father a farm labourer

mother the house was her domain

never did she complain!

It may have been a humble abode

such a long time ago

reminiscing of years long passed

now the only survivor

had never known any other home

never wanted to roam!

For the few who dared to glance

to see what was within

usually saw the derelict eyesore

a decaying old house

boarded up tight well protected

years before erected!

Oddly the large lounge room window

was partly uncovered

where Jean sat watching as always

her spirit here remained

it was her home did not want to leave

still existed did believe!

Some sure there was something here

a shadowy outline

how the decades passed so quickly by

as the legend grew

of a ghostly figure sometimes seen

not realising it was Jean!

Here the dead observed the living!

The Foureyed Poet.

Released!

From the bomb crater the beast was released

the massive explosion scattered

shrapnel and debris outwards at high velocity

and downward deep in the ground

penetrating a long hidden uncharted cave

a hole exposed by the shock wave!

With the evacuation and devastation it came

nobody knew of the presence

from below the alien creature had emerged

from long confinement

awoken after thousand of centuries trapped

to the atmosphere hard to adapt!

Unlike all the earthbound humanoid species

this being was not carbon based

nor in a solid form looking like a dark mist

blending in with the surroundings

because of our gravity needed a host to survive

buried deep only reason alive!

It searched for a victim to enter and control

but the battle raged on

the explosion that had set an evil alien free

sensed few living about

desperate saw a soldier in ruins cowering

soon his mind devouring!

From a hunched weary man now stood tall

his eyes lit brightly

a predator filled with the long pent-up anger

could start his quest

walking along abruptly the body just dropped

a bullet in the back stopped!

There was nobody to transfer into felt the pain

and the end of life

back in its innate shape hovered over the scene

blending in with smoke

rising from the fires that littered far below

decided it was the moment to go!

Into the vacuum of space where it could survive

to wander in search

of another world that itself could easily destroy

settling on passing asteroid

leaving earth to be eradicated by its own hand

as ill winds the fires fanned!

With a last thought could do no more damage

than the brutality of the human rage!

The Foureyed Poet.

Uncharted Seas!

From the depths of the mainly uncharted seas

much polluted by mans progress

as fishing has nearly wiped out some species

or they have been poisoned

by what is pumped and dispersed into the brine

many choosing to ignore its decline!

So much uncharted still unable to reach the depths

what lay beyond our reach

creatures as yet unseen or detected in darkness

pressures man cannot survive

are there the monsters of mythology existing

detection still to us resisting!

Lost cities and civilisations sunk below the waves

as the minute living creatures

are dying will this bring to the surface new terrors

unidentified submerged objects

have been seen below and above oceans surface

not of known origin or its purpose!

Vast expanses of water covering two-thirds of earth

enigmas of what is in the deep

always talk of space and exploration of universes

yet little is known of this planet

we inhabit showing no respect or desire to save it

as our behaviour becomes shit!

The waves still lap the beaches as the tide roles in

yet there is a disquiet surging

expecting those who created the ecological mess

to quickly rectify their blunders

but more are created as the atomic clock ticks

there is no more luck or magic tricks!

The mighty sea dominates our every moment

its fatal force and secrets ever-present!

The Foureyed Poet.

The Lighthouse!

Isolated on a small island within the ocean

the lighthouse stood

a tapered pillar raised up to the heavens

detached from humanity

with that haunting magnetic fascination

their all filled with damnation!

Weather conditions often gale force winds

battering the structure

torrential rain and thick impenetrable fog

a lonely abode for one

rules in the last century a three-man crew

to share work and Seaview!

Weather became poor just before Christmas

sea spray swirled all around

in this lone beacon and claustrophobic space

a supply ship unable to sail

leaving the men to cope on depleting stocks

waves lapping high on the rocks!

Over a week before the conditions improved

enough for ships to sail

as the supply vessel neared noticed no light

a navy cruiser came by

the two crews met puzzled on the small dock

of this situation to take stock!

A naval rating was dispatched up the path

for their first contact

unable to rouse anybody returned to base

two ratings and a relief keeper

were tasked to search the mystery tower

for human life and why no power!

It was very quiet main door was not locked

entering walked upstairs

to the living quarters a half eaten meal there

nothing was disturbed

the sleeping rooms empty beds none used

at the odd situation perused!

Soon up into the lamp room plenty of paraffin

to run the magnified beam

it seemed too normal and no clues to be found

also around the perimeter

nothing was found no indication for the event

or any criminal intent!

The captains concluding the search mission

concerned at disappearances

unable to find an explanation left two men

the relief keeper and a sailor

the rest returning the mystery to report

and with superiors to consort!

After a comprehensive prolonged enquiry

and many more full searches

no bodies to this day were washed ashore

remaining one of the seas

most intriguing unsolved riddles in history

truly an eerie mystery!

Countless theories on their fate implied

yet the truth time has defied!

The Passing of Time!

The lonely sit in their own space

within a silent bubble

the passing of time is very slow

in a trance of thought

they ignore the voices all around

inner peace is found.

Moments arrive when being alone

weighs heavy on them

but realise it has been cultivated

and is a preference

as  they feel  exposed in a crowd

everything is too loud!

Basically shy putting on an act

selfish rather than rude

spend their lives existing alone

creative in a chosen art

not needing others to trespass

social events take a pass!

Some it is a way they like  living

others very  hard to bear

craving any company  to share

fear of  being all alone

unable to face an empty space

this they cannot embrace.

The few life becomes too hard

their only salvation

is to end a troubled existence

creating an awful blow

questions of guilt or surprise

remorse and tearful cries!

The Seven!

Each was strapped into seats on the space ship

unable to move they waited

classed as dangerous fugitives were on route

to a distant prison colony

on a barren and inhospitable minuscule moon

their journey would begin soon!

But Freedom fighters was their designated status

fighting against the evil federation

convicted and betrayed by a hidden informer

for now their oppressors had won

here heading for a certain pointless demise

they would be the winning prize!

But in truth was an option they could not allow

all that had been achieved lost

on board a soldier bribed  to create a diversion

once the craft left earth’s orbit

then on time the massive engines were ignited

their plan would soon be cited!

Feeling the surge it began to gradually accelerate

there was a bang it went dark

the emergency lighting came on but it had worked

for seconds power was lost

their restraints had released all prisoners were free

surprise was the only key!

One of the seven was a master thief and locksmith

able to beat any lock or code

soon weapons were distributed the fight was on

moving towards the life rafts

excellent progress was made with no resistance

how could they get this distance?

Realising the inside man must be dead or captured

hurried as a trap would be set

nearing their final goal could see the soldiers ahead

here the battle fiercely raged

a group of prisoners had come but they quickly fell

their plan was not going well!

But the risk had to be taken firing seven ran forward

apart from minor wounds survived

hearing more coming took the life rafts and ejected

into the dark emptiness of space

the armed ship fired large cannons but missed

the federation officers pissed!

Before very long the small pods ran out of fuel

and they started drifting

the plan to get on a prearranged mining ship

approaching it was destroyed

then from nowhere like a miracle it glided

their escape had been provided!

The immense alien ship moved towards them

like it was guided by gods hand

an airlock opened and they were now inside

coming to rest the group of seven

were somehow directed as doors just opened

in the control room did end!

Then a voice they understood began to speak

telling them the crew were dead

and it would take them where they wanted

this was a living electronic entity

the freedom fighters had a powerful alliance

now to the federation real defiance!

This the beginning of many battles and adventures

against The Federation!

The Foureyed Poet.

The Tree

The young female driver headed on her journey

the satellite navigation switched on.

Which led to a very desolate rambling road

passing through a thick wood.

Happily singing to the music on the car’s radio

not going very slow.

The car she said seemed to take over steering

as a woman materialised ahead!

Approaching very fast it swerved into a tree

she could only watch!

As what felt an eternity before the collision

no time for revision!

The air bag was deployed and it came to a stop

a moment of noise and pain.

A depth of silence never before encountered

steam poured from the radiator.

Realising the danger unhurt stumbled to a rock

being in a state of shock.

From where she sat the figure appeared again

a woman dressed in red!

Arms out with a pleading gaze then faded

frightened just wanted to run.

Found herself on the road weary confused

her body aching and bruised!

Collapsing waking up in a small hospital ward

questioned there by the police.

Though not taking her story very seriously

saying there was no evidence!

After extensive searches nothing was found

of this haunted ground!

Taking months to get better for her own search

she to never located the spot!

It must have been real her precious car had gone

haunted by that ghostly face.

Was there a split in the fabric of time and space

lucky not to be lost without a trace?
