College!

The teenager was excited that Monday

heading to her choice of university

tears kisses and hugs from parents

she was of a nerd disposition

thrilled with a thirst for knowledge

history of the occult at college!

Her one desire being a parapsychologist

always had an interest in ghosts

ever since she saw a girl in her bedroom

told mum she said it was a dream

definitely knew it was real being awake

could still feel the headache!

Saw it many times after all over the house

always made her head throb

yet never felt threatened just very sad

was about twelve at the time

from then on heard voices in her mind

the future had been defined!

Kept all this from the family and friends

none of them could understand

glad at last to get away from that house

now nineteen had to find direction

compelled to this historic seat of learning

entering her stomach was churning!

Could not admit she had psychic abilities

early afternoon seemed quiet

surely should be busy on registration day

there was a buzz with crowds

voices bombarded her brain hard to breath

it kept repeating Macbeth!

Reeling then heard movement behind her

a young woman in long robe

silently came over with a chilling smile

hi Sara my names Beth

you have been eagerly expected here

everything will be made clear!

By eye contact she was guided into a room

without hesitation followed

as though it was natural to walk behind

this creepy young stranger

two huge doors seemed to open unaided

with singing was serenaded!

Candles lit the way the atmosphere heavy

hooded figures could be seen

that awareness flooded her profound mind

knew she was out of her depth

as the black-robed figures now surrounded

her petite body terror unbounded!

Now hands were pushing her towards what

soon became clear was an altar

the female slowly with precision turned

you have been chosen to join

our ancient secret coven by careful selection

here under our protection!

As she stood she was stripped and re-dressed

into a dark long red robe

on the altar lay what looked like a teenager

draped in a white gown

found herself standing with a knife in hand

none of this she planned!

Could not stop as the compulsion to kill surged

the knife above raised high

had no control as it plunged she screamed

all went dark then awoke

was now alone outside of this gothic facade

her thoughts no longer strayed!

Her destiny had been foretold this had to be faced

fearful for the ordeal braced!

Eyes watched as she really entered unable to escape!

Empty Carriage!

With only minutes to spare to catch the train

she boarded the empty carriage.

Thought it odd hearing a door open and close

nobody was on the platform!

Before sitting checked to see who had got on

nervous as the journey was long!

Nobody boarded assumed they’d gone else where

so relaxed to take a knapp.

The warmth rhythm and motion made her doze

waking as her seat was pushed!

Thinking somebody was behind her was annoying

as sleep she had been enjoying.

When it happened once again got up to complain

but the seat was empty.

This the young woman certainly wasn’t expecting

and was still on her own!

Now that sensation of impending doom dawned

what evil here was spawned?

The sliding doors at one end opened and closed

then soon after at the other!

But no visible soul entered the empty carriage

as she lost her balance.

Falling hitting her head with a glancing blow

that happened very slow!

It was though a person had cushioned her fall

sitting dazed saw a reflection.

That looked like a man standing by her side

but nothing was there!

Afraid to move again stayed firmly in her seat

until her journey was complete.

As soon as it stopped she ran to get off the train

not even seeing any staff.

With the urge to glance back into her carriage

she was sure somebody was there.

As it pulled out and faded into the darkness

she released her stress!

Now in her car she still didn’t feel alone!
