Drones!

High above us silently unnoticed they fly

watching spying often with deadly intent

being used in ever-increasing numbers

with no pilots in them to lose their lives

drones flying guided with superior skill

with perfect accuracy for the kill!

 

Drones watching waiting poised in the war

these craft soon thinking for themselves

blending in with birds and things up there

for us undetected as our lives they share

their own computer and no human control

what is the robots destined role?

 

The ultimate stealth aircraft small and lethal

carrying weapons and cameras

from fantasy to a fearsome reality they evolve

raining down their armory

like dragons on the people upon the ground

beasts with no warning or sound!

 

Now on the public a new scourge has emerged

small drones anybody can buy

with little legislation and no license required

few take any notice of the peril

flying freely ignoring dangers without any care

risking disasters and untold despair!

Short Journey!

Through life’s short journey that can be strenuous

emotions often dominate how we react

possessive and violence are common tendencies

mar most of our rational actions we make

such as harmony cooperation with genuine care

often is an option that’s not there!

 

Discipline and self-control not forgetting respect

is often lost when many want to have fun

out for enjoyment excessive drinking with mates

to be in good company with no violent intent

yet some do like to hurt mock and with malice kill

no remorse or hesitation to them another thrill!

 

Once in a minority this evil scourge is on the rise

who will stop them as these thugs rampage on

the law is limp seemingly unable to stop brutality

these gangs think they can do what they want

fear rules everyone is at risk on our streets today

no longer certain its safe to work or play!

 

Violence surely is an evolving human abomination

where power and wealth are above contempt

for billions forced into hopelessness and despair

policing for those trying to abide the law

is slowly withdrawn because of financial restraints

disillusioned no point making complaints!
