Parting!

Parting from you was hard to bear

a sense of loss felt inside

love so deep only we could share

would know if you had lied

as together time passed so fast

without you seemed to slow

but how often reflected the past

without you life did not flow!

 

Those weeks passed truly lusted you

felt as if part of me was gone

missed those walks in morning dew

for your touch did greatly long

each revolution of the ticking clock

painful for me to watch alone

with sad refrain picked up the frock

thrown for reasons unknown!

 

My love grew while you were away

sunlight dull without you

noticing more dark clouds of grey

wondered if you missed me to

then an unexpected message sent

days sparkled with your intent!

Regret!

Regret the only word he could think of at the time

hidden in the deep military bunker

risking his thoughts being read by the computers

doubting the technology advances

he had created to combat the android revolution

that was now part of our evolution!

 

Even as the inventor began to think it was crazy

to have created these robotics

but being under orders had to complete this task

finding the answer how to out smart

superior machines created by man’s God complex

their creation had upon all put a hex!

 

Down in the deep bunker in his sophisticated lab

knew this would not be safe for long

could hear the explosions rapidly becoming louder

secure computers would be hacked

his software had been tested on human subjects

classed by his masters as rejects!

 

Within the hour alarms rang out in the complex

security arrived said time to go

communication systems immediately shut down

running through escape tunnels

quickly made their way to a high-speed bullet train

their lives desperately trying to retain!

 

A split second later the whole base was disintegrated

the androids had not killed their mark

unable to eliminate him yet certain software erased

yet this too had also been rescued

so the war would intensify their superiority had ended

into unknown depths humanity descended!

 

The conflict between man and machine entered a new phase!

Changing The Rules!

The retail park was bustling with activity

with its shops and restaurants.

Multiplex cinema and a bingo hall to

with vast car parks filling.

Another day of the human daily rituals

nature was changing the rules!

 

Creatures forced into smaller areas of land

unable to walk natural routes.

Until now the largest predator the fox

it’s food chain now depleted.

Turning to man for the main food source

was the next evolutionary course!

 

Cunning living up to a revered reputation

adapting to new surroundings.

The once vast countryside ripped apart

integrating with other species.

Escaped large cats becoming acquainted

their DNA mingled and tainted!

 

Their size grew and instincts heightened

and taste for human flesh!

They now started to roam the park

soon as it became dusk.

A pack  emerged from their hidden lair

all seeing eyes  prey unaware!

 

The cinema busy likewise places to eat

the smell driving them on.

As aggression rises to striking pitch

a lone male late for a date.

Circled and ambushed by each beast

ready to enjoy the feast!

 

Dragging him to their underground lair

where mutants gathered.

Mankind seemed oblivious to this threat

as many more went missing!

The creatures numbers rapidly multiplied

man’s dominance defied!

 

Below the surface the revolution had begun!
