Concern!

Surely this must be of great concern now

to our very existence on earth

that it has been reported of the extinction

of billions of animal species

insects and plankton gone at a rapid rate

yet do you here of this debate?

 

How often do you see variety of butterflies

that were part of our summers

bumblebees and endless varieties of birds

are becoming less visible now

occasionally it is reported of birds falling

from the sky dead appalling!

 

Fish to wash up on beaches rivers and lakes

no explanation it is said found

but this is happening on an increasing scale

as more are becoming extinct

what has caused these catastrophic events

the implications to us so immense!

 

Unexplained phenomenon is being reported

but is the truth being distorted?

Aircraft!

The last aircraft had just safely landed

in the air traffic control tower

a unified sigh was expelled by them all

as the tension within released

their long twilight shift had now ended

from nowhere a plane descended!

 

No blips were observed on the radar screen

nor radio contact received

soon could visibly see it from the windows

a twin turbo prop like a shadow

did a text-book landing on the unlit runway

what strange forces were at play?

 

The fire service and base security alerted

sped to the unexpected scene

they could only watch this spectacle

unfolding before them below

the markings and airline were unknown

from where had it flown?

 

On the tarmac it seemed lifeless ghostly

armed police waited agitated

as steps were hastily wheeled into place

nothing stirred as the door

was forcibly opened they rushed aboard

into a domain yet unexplored!

 

What they found was a new experience

an unbelievable sight before them

rows of skeletal remains in their seats

clothed in a very old style garb

appeared no sign of panic or any threat

on the fate passengers had met!

 

On the flight deck both pilots were found

bony hands on the controls

but how could it land nothing was alive

there was no power on the craft

soon discovered it departed from here

but soon after did disappear!

 

This happened sixty years ago to that day

no trace was ever found

until somehow it landed where it had left

the mystery was kept quiet

all evidence hidden from public exposure

so there could be no closure!

 

Years later a reporter was told of the case

who dug deep the truth to trace

any enquiry to seek out further information

blocked so never got confirmation!

 

He did persist but had a fatal accident!

Scene!

Should not have gone back to the scene of the crime

did not see the woman until she hit his car

if only had got a taxi knew his alcohol limit was high

looked around the empty lane and the tree

he hit swerving to avoid that woman in a nightdress

had been honest with the police did confess!

 

But no body could be found but was sure he saw her

lost conciseness in a coma for weeks

but the nightmare of that moment would not fade

it had been three years since that night

had a breakdown ended up in a mental institution

knew deep inside it had been no allusion!

 

Had to take medication just to focus filled with guilt

no matter how many times being told

in his mind’s eye saw he hit her body head on

alone staring deeply reliving the incident

there was a clap of thunder and fork lightning

atmosphere around him heightening!

 

A Memory it had been a thunderstorm that night

now the visibility was getting poor and rain

hitting his skin hurt more flashes then she came

before him on that saturated country road

frantically calling out she did not seem to hear

as rapidly approaching a car did near!

 

The driver saw the man in front but was too late

a spilt second before he hit a woman to

the vehicle skidded impacting at the same spot

a patrol car came by soon after the crash

indications the weather had caused the collision

been here before viewed it with suspicion!

 

The driver did survive this horrendous fatal crash

with only minor injuries very lucky

the cold case of the phantom woman reopened

especially when the male victims body

was recovered identification had been resolved

yet the mystery was never solved!

 

Occasionally during a thunderstorm was reported

a woman and a man were seen on the road

without evidence the report was politely retorted

but an open-minded attitude was bestowed

as it was in the realm of a spiritual understanding

other agencies were better suited to handling!

Simply!

The bottle simply fell off the high shelf

as the barmaid poured a drink

this was in the lounge bar of a hotel

grade one listed building

with a history of phenomena reported

and stories of love thwarted!

 

Much had been proved to be natural

sounds created by the wood

creaking expanding and contracting

drafts from old windows

letting cold air chill the weary visitor

who had not been here before!

 

To those staff who had been here awhile

they had got more use to it

though parts of the hotel were off limit

they were scared to enter

shadows and sensations of dread within

tested their professional discipline!

 

An ancient coaching inn with a dark past

extended over the centuries

main route to London saw highwaymen

regularly robbing stage coaches

villains often hanged passengers killed

to those near the bones it chilled!

 

Items thrown or going missing routine

but the recording was proof

an entity roamed the bars and corridors

blurry but it looked like a female

in flowing dress came into view gliding

for them the proof providing!

 

Also seen in the upper bedrooms area

others had said they had seen

bodies hanging from a gnarled oak tree

in the cobbled courtyard

so many hidden secrets still to be told

gruesome terrors to behold!

 

The inn drew the curios and series investigator

amateur and professional facilitator!

Until!

For some years now the group had investigated

many reported haunted sites

on which every member the findings did debate

the many frightening nights

when sceptic and believer too often disagreed

as the investigation did proceed!

 

This philosophy worked well a mutual respect

until they visited the hospital

that had been abandoned its history suspect

with rumours and tittle-tattle

sounds and sightings of  dead patients seen

or the staff  it could have been!

 

This intrigued the groups sense of adventure

and determination to seek facts

with boldness and determination did enter

in the hope of making contact

with members of the local paranormal team

who knew the haunting was extreme!

 

First a walk around to known places of activity

static cameras with night vision

put in areas of  known sightings and negativity

making each move a joint decision

but even on this prelim voices were picked up

creating flutters in their gut!

 

Every piece of equipment was primed and ready

as the small group proceeded

lights were now turned off had to take it steady

and rules of engagement heeded

torches to guide them to the areas of interest

this night each it would test!

 

In the resuscitation room cries of pain are heard

picked up on the voice recorder

screams of a male asking for help clear each word

this nearly created disorder

one female says she has been touched on her face

shaken went back to the base!

 

Passing by the theatres a child’s laugh is so clear

everybody heard this faint sound

followed by an aggressive growl so very near

each suddenly turned around

slowly the few walked towards the trauma ward

an eerie place to be explored.

 

Reported in here coldness and shadows moving

even the double doors creaked

cautiously entering the mood was not improving

as a loud tap made a girl shriek

in the cameras viewfinder a human shape seen

also on the thermal image screen!

 

Then a deep rasping voice shouted clearly get out

the words confirmed on playback

a shadow darted around them in anger no doubt

another group member felt a whack

almost ending on the debris covered ward floor

they could not take any more!

 

Gathering outside by their van in the forecourt

the dawn was beginning  to break

every member shaken at what they had caught

though a long night were wide awake

the equipment still inside they had to retrieve

even the sceptics had to believe!

 

But there would be a lot more surprises in store

reviewing the footage taken

galvanizing them all into coming back for more

the investigation each had shaken

two hours later left to evaluate and contemplate

and their next actions to debate!

Reported!

It had been reported the battlefields were haunted

even video and voice recordings

captured for everyone to listen to and actually see

here many had met a violent demise

were thousands in mass graves still together lay

from the civil war to this day!

 

Drawn by the immense scale of an awful conflict

fellow countrymen on opposite sides

intent on inflicting mass slaughter in a civil war

could their restless spirits fight on

to the present time those traumas ever replayed

the orders still being obeyed!

 

The area vast people drawn with morbid interest

wanting to explore the scene

some maybe have psychic abilities most do not

yet all sense something is here

soldiers seen moving covertly through the bracken

yet nothing there when tracking!

 

Some are videoed giving evidence to be shown

physical contact to reported

pushed and hit yet nobody was visible to the eye

some even in a battle scenario

re-living an event that upon this ground occurred

cannon and rifle fire also heard!

 

The vast array of what is called paranormal evidence

continuous to confound the experts

those who admit they do not believe cannot explain

this lingering oppressive atmosphere

hanging over land where more than fifty Thousand died

their stories forever denied!
