Prison!

The prison was being closed down now obsolete

opened for one hundred and fifty years

a new private facility had been opened nearby

extra prison officers were drafted in

with over two hundred prisoners to transfer

hoping no problems would occur!

 

Starting at first light the operation got underway

as the transport rolled into the yard

the prisoners were ready very eager to leave

guards from the new facility

were assisting those from the retiring prison

where many secrets until now hidden!

 

A strange orderly exit was completed within a day

but on roll call several were missing

a search had to be made in the empty building

nobody would give any reasons

for those unaccounted souls as the search began

in their hands the prison plan!

 

Few officers from this prison volunteered to return

left mainly to those from the new

to venture into the ageing depths to find the missing

splitting into groups of three

each led by somebody who knew the prisons layout

each uncertain and full of doubt!

 

Entering the C wing cell doors were banging loudly

and movement in the cells ahead

expecting to find one of those they seeked inside

but nothing stirred except dust

then a sound if somebody was running their way

on looking nothing could they survey!

 

An older guard said an inmate had been murdered

in the dank cell then tossed over the rail

walking on more nervous than they were before

headed down to the lower levels

to the isolation block with no lights and very small

where nobody could hear you call!

 

Thoroughly searching the cramped eerie cold place

nobody visibly was to be found

but one or two were certain they heard voices there

glad to leave back to ground level

in the mess hall it felt as though others were near

footsteps approaching crystal clear!

 

Each group were here so had no explanation for sounds

unable to locate the missing prisoners

it was decided to leave and recheck registers to see

if it was simply a clerical error

everyone glad to be out of the repressive environment

that to them was maleficent!

 

Even the hardened experienced prison officers had found

their last visit an unexpected scare

it was found the number missing men was  correct

they were never found or seen again

paranormal investigators are regular visitors inside today

none of them from the team would stray!

 

Within the prison the phenomenon increased!
