Deafening!

Deafening sounds as the birds sang

smell of fresh-cut grass

the sun shone brightly and warm

children played blissfully

dogs chasing about with freedom

in this a fearless society

where unity was the key to peace

there existed genuine release!

 

But in reality this for most just fiction

some places were a reality

did exist but so easily snuffed out

as pollution from sources

that invade those bastions of hope

destabilizing each day

of an idyllic society the majority crave

to others never be a slave!

 

That longing for purity in the condition

no air pollution to breath

or poisonous food and water supplies

safety to walk about freely

knowing there is no dangers close by

or threats from any wars

is now just fantasy as the net tightens

the anxiety amidst us heightens!

News outlets!

The news outlets onslaught accelerated

making us feel ever inferior

with stories of perpetual destruction

reports of endless warfare

unsettling and dividing our opinions

and continuous attacks

even our neighbours began to mistrust

as disturbing images on us thrust!

 

With increasing threats of society collapse

pollution low energy resources

because of mankind’s vast overpopulation

stories of evil overlords planning

to eliminate vast numbers of the population

an alien invasion was immanent

tsunamis and earthquakes rapidly increased

blitz on humanity never ceased!

 

Millions oblivious wrapped up in the technology

artificial intelligence ruled

the electromagnetic fields surrounded us all

there was no work to do

yet there was a complete control no freedom

a growing anxiety of existing

anger and rebellion disrupted the false order

once more in human history disorder!

 

That overwhelming instinct of dissent exploded

as the belief in authority was again eroded!

Oblivious!

Oblivious he stared at the huge flat screen television

smart to in more ways than one

watching the films dramas news and variety shows

believing everything that was said

living his perfect life feeling secure in his own home

unaware that he was being spied upon

mobile phone calls monitored and all emails read

or grasp in this society had to delicately tread!

 

Not for him wanting to know more he was satisfied

thought little of the plastics or any pollution

or what was in the food water bottled and piped

just fantasy the possibility of robots

oblivious most communications relied on cyborgs

that civil liberties were eroded away

or he like the rest of humanity were being played

that by the few we had all been betrayed!

 

No not until his perfect world was suddenly destroyed!
