Not Expected!

Not expected there was a month to go

all was so perfect until

a fit they said blackout could not wake

aroused in the labour ward

worried faces what was happening cried

thinking her baby had died!

No time to think so much for her to absorb

had an epidural for the pain

doctors and nurses were giving full attention

blood taken and pressure to

scared at what was occurring so very fast

on her life the shadow cast!

The baby was delivered by Cesarian surgery

there was the fear of no oxygen

while mum was unconscious so intubated

and ventilated taken to scuba

the pediatric intensive care hope fading

all the family emotions cascading!

Tests were carried out the prognosis poor

through misfortune little hope

physically so perfect hard to understand

removed from ventilator

no more assistance must breathe unaided

in disbelief emotions pervaded!

Days passed she did breath on her own

hope was restored for a while

though doctors said there was no chance

and it could be weeks or months

so together a plan to give intensive care

with that special love would share!

To this day tiny Jade is her name

in this world does remain!

Cheating!

She had no indication that he was cheating

so in love with her handsome man

been happily together more than seven years

married for just over five pure bliss

sexual relations had not noticed problems

attentive as ever the good husband

to friends she described him as so perfect

infidelity certainly did not detect!

Even when her best friend made excuses

that coincided with his work

schedule that had never arisen before

a gut feeling came into play

did not want to believe these musings

that flooded her once clear mind

but unable to shake her agitations decided

by her instincts had to be guided!

Such an awkward moment confronted him

had known him all those years

but had she really or was it all just a big lie

how shocked he said innocently

always convincing with his puppy-dog smile

that always melted her heart

began to feel guilt ridden for having doubt

to think he had put himself about!

Their first major row did not end well that night

he had gone to work early

so never saw him at breakfast received a call

her friend wanted to come around

sensed she had something needed to discuss

both sat nervously eye contact poor

when a guilty conscience could not hide the lie

no longer could the affair deny!

Her one true love had cheated living a deception

from that day knew the marriage

was over when he came home told him to leave

refused to admit he had an affair

but left quietly forever to regret losing her love

she to finished with her closes friend

three lives that changed time could not replay

each went their separate way!

Oblivious!

Oblivious he stared at the huge flat screen television

smart to in more ways than one

watching the films dramas news and variety shows

believing everything that was said

living his perfect life feeling secure in his own home

unaware that he was being spied upon

mobile phone calls monitored and all emails read

or grasp in this society had to delicately tread!

Not for him wanting to know more he was satisfied

thought little of the plastics or any pollution

or what was in the food water bottled and piped

just fantasy the possibility of robots

oblivious most communications relied on cyborgs

that civil liberties were eroded away

or he like the rest of humanity were being played

that by the few we had all been betrayed!

No not until his perfect world was suddenly destroyed!

Special Day!

That special day has finally arrived

plans made hoping all is well

beginning of our adventure together

preparations completed ready

a nervous groom waits for his bride

standing nowhere to hide!

Soon she will walk down the aisle

two people to be joined

music starts to play nerves are taut

relieved as she is here

now together for that moment stand

promises a kiss hand in hand!

Behind family and friends sit watching

now smiles on your faces

turning to congratulations and praises

signing the register married

feeling of relief cameras start clicking

your married the clock is ticking!

Realising now two families are united

everybody happy and delighted

their perfect love match and marriage

or divorce hate then disengage!

Perfect!

Such a nice neat white-painted house

it drew my attention

had to stop and admire so perfect

yet was it just a facade

a child’s swing moved on its own

by who was unknown!

Toys on the verandah indicated children

yet there was no sound

it appeared as if nobody lived here now

but shadows could be seen

outside the double garage stood a car

waiting to be driven bizarre!

The path through a white gate spotted

with dark brown stains

no other indication it was a crime scene

of horrendous brutality

here I would have been happy to reside

its secret no more could it hide!

The last family no longer within did live

the step son the only survivor

of five who lived and enjoyed this home

now in police custody

it was reported by a local news station

they needed more information!

Morbid curiosity had brought me here

even from the pavement

terror made my skin prickle with fear

as if from beyond the grave

sadness made me want to cry in sorrow

for them no tomorrow!

Backing away from there wanted to leave

as a child waved at me

so clearly from an upper window petrified

left the perfect house

never to return yet the images remained

what I saw unexplained!

The trial of the only survivor and accused

went on for several months

his defence trying to get an insanity plea

as he kept saying a voice

told him to kill his family but was rejected

guilty of murder the judge directed!

His sentence was to die by lethal injection

no date had been set

the news by this time had other stories

for a while it went quiet

until he was found lifeless in his prison cell

the cause nobody could tell!

Shortly after this he was seen by witnesses

within the garden and house

roaming about as if he was still searching

a blank expression on his face

even though he had been recently cremated

this mystery is still debated!

Few were keen to enter inside the perfect house!

Android!

The newspaper had an advert for a dance

decided to go drinks were free

the venue a smart hotel needed some fun

anybody welcome it said

on posters spread all around the entrance

into the dance I did advance.

But there was no mention of the occasion

for the lavish open  party

there were a lot of people within the lobby

waiting excitedly to get inside

surprised at the number of security staff

no smiles certainly not a laugh.

They all had the same appearance very odd

food was a laid out in a buffet

the serving staff were all beautiful women

but again each was a carbon copy

unsettled what was happening I wondered

coming in here had I blundered!

The evening progressed it become surreal

as most of those dancing

seemed emotionless but not everybody

as an attractive female

ask me on the floor never stopped talking

how I wanted to get walking!

Then said she was part of the research team

and this was their launch day

after that we kissed never asked anymore

thought this was a good night

until the band went quiet and a suited man

spoke of his great plan!

To create androids to be like human beings

and formed in their image

he was proud and delighted upon this eve

to introduce his perfect creations

as if by a silent cue the majority obeyed

standing below the stage!

Realising these seemingly too perfect people

were robots before my eyes

the dozen I assumed on either side of me

were some of the creators

all around the security circled the room

sensing deep feelings of doom!

The name of the company emblazoned

below the impressive podium

global robotics electronics corporation

there had to be countless more

who had allowed this lunacy be done

and humans androids overrun!

Warnings repeatedly given of creating

artificial intelligence that would

become superior overtaking our brains

in knowledge speed ability

with no conscience fear of death or rest

and human life dispossessed!

For the first time I realised this was now

not coming in the future

as the abhorrence began to be absorbed

the music started again

as if nothing was wrong so quietly I left

the folly of mankind left me bereft!

A year later day the first android was began!

The Kiss

As he laid dying in the hospital unit

no family to say goodbye

alone since his precious wife’s death

living on his memories

few friends always two inseparable

living by their own rule.

Even now reminiscing her gentle kiss

that gave him such warmth

a purpose to go and work each day

knowing she was waiting

and another kiss when he returned

for those days he yearned.

Unable to move far relying on others

his thoughts were fading

yet remembered his love and her kiss

making his last days good

that moment came he joined his wife

forever in another life!

Nurses found him his lips puckered in a kiss!

Perfect!

The temperature was perfect as the sun set

two in love surrounded by many

an atmosphere of tranquillity in the circle

more gathered waiting for dawn

on this summer solstice the balance right

countless stars shinning bright.

Closeness of each other and like-minded folk

as the cherished hours passed

with the rotation of our earth we layed back

absorbing the vast galaxy

with magnificent views of those endless stars

imagining travelling to Mars!

Snuggled together mesmerised by the spectacle

as into view we did observe

two bright blinking lights in rhythmic unison

both following closely in line

each  silent overhead in their stable motion

on the crest of a spacious ocean!

What had we witnessed alien craft travelling by

that the authorities always deny?

The dawn came as the sun rose into a blue sky.

Happy Day!

She never realised the work to make her happy day

a white wedding to make her parents proud.

They were thrilled thinking this was her perfect man

being thirty was not young to get wed.

Thought it was the final wish she had now achieved

but her family were nearly bereaved!

Shaking uncontrollably her legs she couldn’t feel

the beating had damaged her spine!

Stabbed in her abdomen it had nicked an artery

doctors said lucky to be alive.

Completely taken in by this smooth tongued lout

her life shattered by his rout!

Police hovered nearby her husband had escaped

shouting he wanted her dead!

How could that love he said he had just fade

she asked herself over and over.

Out of the blue he accused her of having affair

when she was given him the care.

What hurt the most he had killed her pet dog

raising him from a puppy.

The one friend that had never let her down

his final repulsive act.

The reality she had no more tears to cry

her marriage was a lie!

With so much time she thought deep and long

remembering how they met.

He was so kind and caring to her back then

but he did slap her face.

When they first got engaged during a row

but she accepted it somehow.

Now twelve months on living in fear of this man

maybe paralysed for life!

Why  didn’t she listen to family and friends

too late for recriminations!

It was a miracle she had actually survived

and successfully revived!

How her heart ached for her pet Bobby.

So Close!

In my mind its wonderful when we meet

so close to you I deeply feel

our flirtatious banter is always a treat

secretly having that tender appeal!

But know it is only within my lonely mind

an imaginary female friend that’s all

so perfect thoughtful gentle and very kind

there when others ignore my call!

In the silence you comfort me from fear

raise my spirits halting even one tear

giving me the will to live yet another day

keeping that dark depression at bay!
