Amelia!

He was now thirty yet he remembered

as though it was yesterday

had been reluctant to come back here

the house in which he was born

even now he wanted to turn and run

with this house was not done!

Was three when my friend first arrived

an only child found it lonely

parents to busy to take notice of me

the nanny was very harsh

when Amelia came wanted be a friend

misery came to an end!

At first it was great days of laughter

running around the garden

climbing trees somebody to talk to

but after a while realized

nobody else could see her accept me

wondered who she could be?

The day nanny came into my bedroom

heard me chatting to Amelia

became irate unable to see anybody else

was quick to inform my parents

thinking I had a problem with my mind

wanted my mental state defined!

Would not believe that Amelia was real

as they could not see her

was sent to psychiatrists to be assessed

but nothing was found wrong

resigned themselves to leave me alone

for me no more reasons to moan!

It was decided to have me home schooled

so that was my education

arranged which pleased me being a loner

already had a good friend

on my twelfth birthday an accident occurred

though my memory was blurred!

Nanny to me had truly out stayed her welcome

just wanted her to leave

heard the awful scream ran to the staircase

she laid still head twisted

saw Amelia smiling at the top as my dad came

taken as an accident nobody to blame!

Maybe I was blase or to young to understand

but nothing was the same

my parents had never shown me any love

it was if they did not care

always out or away on a long business trip

in their world did not fit!

At sixteen did start to question why Amelia

did not seem to age at all

she always laughed and never did explain

it was then while in the garden

an attractive girl looked over the brick wall

emotionally for her did fall!

A young family had just moved in next door

soon we were talking together

having lived a sheltered life this was exciting

soon it was apparent Amelia

certainly was not happy would soon regret

that the girl next door had met!

Standing back from the now derelict house

could still visualize the arrest

being driven away proclaiming my innocence

as they had found Lizzie

outside on the patio she had been strangled

her beautiful body mangled!

Had gone to bed on my that’s all I could recall

with my past history they decided

maybe in a state of insanity must have killed

tried to tell them not by my hand

but my parents in their room they were found

strangled gagged and bound!

Thirty years on had been released on license

it was felt they had cured me

even now by my side Amelia stood smiling

we are together Andy forever

your one true friend I have waited for you

what she was had no clue!

Knew we were bound together until my end!

Hand In Hand!

Held hands bewildered at what surrounded them

shocked covered in thick dust

could only hold on to each other both survived

the huge blast that killed so many

children that did not understand such carnage

or how adults had such rage!

In their short lives had only ever known destruction

warfare that took families forever

born into the putrid odours of death cries of anguish

that never ending wail of mourning

funerals and standing by grave sides of  loved ones

and choking smoke filling their lungs!

Now they were alone their home and parents murdered

as a missile struck their only sanctuary

while both outside the explosion shattered many lives

parents and grandparents a brother to

lost evermorer being so young just could not understand

as together stood hand in hand!

By The Roadside!

By the roadside she lay bleeding

nobody attempted to stop

they just sped by without thought

safely cocooned in their cars

some glanced but they did not see

nothing to do we me!

Hit by a car that never stopped at all

saw a blur and heard a bang

being wrapped up in his own affairs

escaping from a robbery

a human life never had his priority

he answered to no authority!

Long gone from his callous hit and run

the young woman clung to life

the rain began to soak her broken body

conscious she tried to speak

but on impact it had severed her spine

vital signs rapidly began to decline!

A row with her parents angrily ran out

at the disapproval over a man

why should she stop seeing him shouted

so what had a criminal record

you cannot change the way that I feel

our love for each other real!

As her vital organs began to shut down

she recalled those last hours

unaware the driver who left her here

to die at the side of the road

was the very person she loved so much

the one with the gentle touch!

Eventually a car did stop to give her aid

it was dad seeking his daughter

devastated finding his child laying there

so badly hurt in the mud alone

rushed to hospital her spirit still strong

recovery hazardous and long!

The truth had yet to be revealed!

Derelict!

It was for a dare that the youngsters agreed

to explore the derelict house

meeting outside on a Saturday afternoon

the eldest fourteen and a bit

he was thought of as big brother to the rest

not for much longer one of the best!

Wanting to probe the house others avoided

his idea not wanting to go alone

now the reluctant foursome stood together

sneaking through a hole

in the back garden fence next to wasteland

trying to be an intrepid band!

All they had was each other and their torches

it did not look inviting

downstairs the glass was broken or cracked

the outer door ripped off

inner one was half-open the older lad Lance

entering not afraid to advance!

The youngest Lilly did not want to go inside

but a growl and shaking bush

made her run and grab big sister Lee’s hand

surprised let out a loud yell

words in large red letters daubed on each wall

then saw movement in the hall!

Now bunched together feeling very frightened

the kitchen door slammed shut

training their torches could see nothing there

but Lance wanted to search more

little Leanne started crying asking to leave

a man was watching she did believe!

Moving on through the derelict lower floor

a dragging sound was heard

as if coming down the now collapsed stairs

but nothing could be seen

yet little Leanne said again about the man

as each viewed the floor plan!

The girls voices now rising to a petrified shrill

reluctantly Lance admitted

this was far too much for him to take anymore

as a plank of wood flew in the air

helping them through a glass less window frame

admitted it was a mistake they came!

Covered in dust quickly headed back to the fence

but felt compelled for a last look

everyone saw the figure of a girl staring at them

at this ran panic-stricken home

the parents were never told just what occurred

what the children had seen and heard!

They seemed to go their separate ways after that

the eldest Lance discovered girls

as for the other they stayed at home every night

the house was demolished

soon on the site several dwellings were erected

but in weeks bad things were detected!

Voices!

At fifteen thought life was fun an adventure

as she entered the church

behind her parents they were on holiday

her sister followed behind

from a young age heard voices in her head

knew they were of the dead!

For a while suppressed the sounds in her mind

but within the ancient building

had started again echoing from every angle

her parents had no idea

but had to confide with her younger sibling

knowing trouble it may bring!

Wanted to get out yet for the first time saw

what looked liked a woman

knew was not really there felt compelled

to approach and listen

such a soft voice speaking lonely and sad

for somebody to hear so glad!

Before she could approach her parents called

glancing back she had gone

for a moment heard nothing until a loud cry

as the ghost was by her side

that asked to be free from her perpetual hell

overwhelmed had a fainting spell!

It was a surprise to find herself laying down

sitting up her parents concerned

sat beside her grinning sister had to stand

then turned running to the exit

as even more voices shouted within her head

clearer she caught the thread!

Trapped souls were seeking her help to be free

away from the growing evil

let them go on into the internal peace and light

yet amongst the constant noise

knew there was a darkness growing all around

that was earth-bound!

Inwardly panicked began to drain her spirituality

as the woman once more

came speaking calmly now with an angelic glow

realised it was an angel here

to guide this young adult with her special role

to save each lost and lonely soul!

Yet still had a place on the earth with a loving family

to give her strength and support

in a harsh and ever-growing violent material society

where she found the love and joy

now she was able to see and understand true grace

so the future now could face!

Dilemma!

What an awesome future said her husband

so excited their first child

buying their own home careers on track

with care finances good

parents to taking the news in their stride

filled with happiness and pride.

As the months went by the baby was fine

scans were perfect to view

mum started having pains in the chest

just indigestion it must be

nothing else that it could be so a delay

before the day she had to say!

Test were carried out a diagnosis found

the results were back

and the conclusions not good for her

a series heart condition

needing to have major surgery or die

but she could not comply.

The baby would be put at a serious risk

and not likely to live

determined her child would be safe

refused the operation

until cradled in her arms protected

the decision she elected!

Her husband was torn between them both

understanding the decision

months passed until the thirtieth week

her condition deteriorated

urgent caesarean section had to be done

and they had a healthy son!

But the strain was too much for his mum

having a spinal anaesthetic

had her wish holding him in her arms

and a precious photo saved

realising she may never see him grow

that day did not let it show!

But she is still alive and continuous fighting

every day a precious gift!

The Foureyed Poet

His Secret!

He had been thrown out at fifteen his secret

by parents who were always high

never knew love of a family always a loner

had a sister he tried to protect

his haunted vision of her always crying

yet like him always defying!

Within knew she would survive their cruelty

what else could she now do

nobody ever came to help them get free

his will to live was ebbing

worrying about his sister afraid to go back

the education he did lack!

Ended up begging on the street humiliated

on a day when he felt like dying

a dog wandered aimlessly lost passed him

turned and came slowly back

laying whimpering with sad eyes at his side

for the first time in years cried!

This scruffy bag of bones and fur needed help

neglected and desperate

identifying his situation with this new friend

now with a purpose in life

that emptiness was not so intense anymore

had to pick himself off the floor!

Giving him courage and confidence to mature

named the dog Thor

because he had given him strength and courage

to become a man from the boy

proud to have a loyal companion as he paced

knowing the parents had to be faced!”

Settled in a flat of his own and now employed

the inevitable had to be done

ringing the bell still scared him wanting to run

a young woman opened the door

his sister recognised him hugging so tight

filled with such delight!

This was when he learned the parents had died

she had tried to find her brother

knew they would meet again and be together

welcoming him and Thor

into a now happy home the passed left behind

their future clearly defined!

The Foureyed Poet.

That Moment!

That moment the mother would never forget

as she sat to recall the events.

Of that day she went to the shopping centre

with her lively young son.

A child who was determined to walk not ride

hard to keep by her side.

Much busier than when they’d been before

containment not an easy task.

Bought him new shoes would not take off

stress levels were rising.

Saw a dress could not resist putting it on

did not see any wrong.

But in a lapse of thought for a few seconds

never checked he was close.

Seeing how the dress fitted in the mirror

it was nice feeling good.

Realising he was not sitting on the chair

screaming ran out of there!

Shouting her son’s name drawing attention

staff and customers came.

Security were soon fulfilling an active role

organising a major search.

Talking to her for information and support

as the small lad was sought.

Police were brought in as there was no sign

dad came to be at hand.

Both parents comforting each other in shock

as minutes turned in to hours.

The crowded building cleared of passers-by

quiet hoping to hear even a cry!

Cameras showed he had wandered outside

nobody had seen him since.

Concern was mounting for his well-being

he was only five two days ago.

Reporters gathered hungry for any news

ready to write their views.

The light was fading as the temperature fell

everyone hoping he was well.

In the manager’s office they couldn’t leave

waiting holding onto hope.

A liaison officer there to keep them in touch

as it was becoming too much!

A police unit searched a nearby open park

happily found the lad asleep.

Safely within an enclosed children’s slide

sending for mum and dad.

Both elated and eager to hug their boy

relieved and filled with joy.

But realising how lucky to find him unharmed

how easy to be a different story!

Watching now tucked up in his racing car bed

he could have been lost.

Their problems were put into context that day

when their child went astray!

The Foureyed Poet.

A Stunned Hush!

A stunned hush took their voices away

another tragedy reported.

Children and teachers in a school killed

what can anybody say?

As more innocent lives have been taken

the police were not mistaken!

Why do these tragedies have to happen

the young have done no wrong.

Watching traumatized kids holding hands

evacuated from the scene.

Parents stunned and wanting to know why

listening to the kids cry!

Another chapter in the book of shocking events

unfolding in front of the world.

Nothing can be said to ease the anger and pain

we can never understand.

Together may the families stand together in unity

spiritually strong in their community.

Never can we understand the acts of mankind

together I hope peace they’ll find.

May I send my sincere thoughts.
