Diamond Star!

The recently renovated sailing ship

looked magnificent

as it sailed into the busy seaport

a notorious pirate ship

once its bloody history folklore

on many an island’s shore!

 

Through public and private funds

centuries on pristine

here for its first completed view

and pick up the crew

a chance for many to re-engage

life from a bygone age!

 

Every detail carefully replicated

much was original

creating a realism it was reborn

those who worked

upon her all had that perception

from the conception!

 

This was more than just a project

for good or pure evil

the past had literally come back

to haunt those onboard

most glad to disembark her decks

knowing it was hexed!

 

The owners wanted these thoughts

kept totally quiet

as it came into dock to loud cheers

a girl on the quay

saw a wispy shape upon the mast

the curse was cast!

 

She was in a group of thirty teenagers

on a weeks adventure

A member of a local sea cadet brigade

excited about the trip

along with the others so eager to start

and for the ship to depart!

 

With more waving from all those watching

gracefully it sailed

towards the open sea as they all cheered

similar to long ago

the original maiden voyage leaving port

the atmosphere caught!

 

Diamond star was meant to be a trader

but on her first run

was attacked and captured by pirates

who killed the crew

then had a new vessel for their crimes

even then violent times!

 

During the first few day it went wrong

without warning saw

blood stains appearing on cabin walls

bodies to then faded away

footsteps and voices when nobody there

driving them all to despair!

 

The youngsters becoming very scared

trapped in small spaces

violent unseen hands harming physically

scratching and pushing

down stairways and objects were thrown

trapped in the unknown!

 

Their only chance get to the lifeboats

the senior members

went ahead followed by everyone else

swinging them outward

noticed the helm turning as if controlled

as the sails began to unfold!

 

Ropes and pulleys moving seemingly unaided

the wind was picking up

lowering two lifeboat the teenagers got in

the ship was functioning

as the last of them were safely on the sea

at last felt safe and free!

 

It turned away from them and the Jolly Roger

flapped in the rising wind

disappearing into the distance fading from site

leaving them drifting

unable to comprehend what had taken place

gone without a trace!

 

Being a busy shipping lane were soon rescued

with a tale hard to believe

the Diamond Star had started a new journey

into another dimension

sailed by the pirate crew soon a legend grew

the whole truth nobody ever knew!

The Cruise!

The middle-aged couple looked over the ocean

on the deck of the cruise liner

enjoying the warm beautiful Caribbean sunset

sipping a fruity red wine

unaware of the creature crawling up the side

for them nowhere to hide!

 

Leaving a slime trail it slithered over the rail

down onto the empty deck

silently approaching the contented couple

opening its jaws wide

now exposing large angled razor-sharp teeth

death came from beneath!

 

There was no time to give any warning cry

the man savaged and swallowed

the woman violently knocked overboard

unable to make a sound

falling to more sea monsters basking below

her blood no longer did flow!

 

Unaware of the nearing danger passengers

slept or partied as normal

the captain still on duty pacing the bridge

viewing the radar at the blips

wondering what was causing this oddity

then not knowing their ferocity!

 

Rare thinking a schooling of fish were passing

not for long as reports came in

of monstrous creatures swarming the ship

attacking everybody on all levels

immediately sending out an urgent Mayday call

before their end did befall!

 

But for a twist of fate the message was delayed

was it the position on the sea

or an electrical storm that distorted the signal

by the time any rescue arrived

no life remained upon this passenger vessel

a mystery searchers had to wrestle!

 

Now classed a crime scene the ship was towed

from its very remote last position

but underneath the hull these creatures gripped

with powerful suckers undetected

into the main sea port ready to unleash their terror

that would become a shocking error!

 

The nightmare had just begun!

Collision!

The passenger jet liner sped along the runway

taking off on a long haul flight

all checks had been completed as it rose higher

reaching its cruising height safely

autopilot switched on heading over the ocean

everything seemed in perfect motion!

 

The passengers were given their meal and drinks

before settling down to try and sleep

a calm and pleasant night the crew had little to do

but watch the many instruments

the cabin staff were on call to give any assistants

to travelers during the long distance.

 

Three hours into the flight the captain was alerted

spotting a glowing object ahead

informing his co-pilot who observed and cabin crew

at first just a bright ball of light

then started doing aerobatics neither had seen before

soon was joined by two more!

 

Watching disbelieving at this incredible flying display

certainly an unknown type of craft

manoeuvred instantly together the three became one

now turning on a collision course

their large plane could not turn out of the UFO’s way

with them no longer wanted to play!

 

Tense as it came towards them at supersonic speed

just missing the port side wing

so they thought until a loud metal crunching bang

the two craft had actually collided

this caused the plane to shudder and soon after stall

struggling to prevent its final fall!

 

They could see sparks the mysterious object was gone

as the plane was hard to control

gliding downwards the fear it would hit the sea below

putting out a Mayday as it fell

with skill and experience the engines were restarted

this incident not for the fainthearted!

 

Soon they received an answer from a naval base nearby

on an island only an hour away

heading there quickly as they dare glad they were alive

passengers shaken but no series injuries

relieved when it touchdown on tarmac with no more trouble

soon were evacuated at the double!

 

Though it was dark were able to see because of the floodlights

a huge dent on the nose cone

as if it had been hit in a head on collision with a solid object

everybody present were stunned

a passenger took a picture of the damage section unseen

before they went inside to reconvene!

 

It would be some wait as another aircraft had to come

questions avoided about what happened

the crew were ushered away and were not seen again

frustrations arose with no answers given

on their return reporters keen to know what occurred

the authorities response was differed!

 

The truth never officially confirmed not even by the airlines

but the photo existed and was produced

and clearly it was visible for anybody to see it was proof

yet once again officials stayed aloof!

 

An investigation and facts once again to the public denied!
