Shadows!

Both sat in what was a special spot

where they never got disturbed

their families rejected their union

seeking time out of the public eye

where no humans would pry!

For he was from another dimension

though he could shape shift

it was hard to maintain human form

here he could be just himself

the girl prefered to be out at night

daylight made her skin-tight!

She moved amongst us unnoticed

always stayed in the shadows

she prefered not to mix with people

her race lived underground

being of the blood draining breed

needing humans to feed!

But they had been almost wiped out

those who remained hidden

the search for a new source required

desperate times drove her

to find solutions or become extinct

seeking their strains to be linked!

But if that was not possible she knew

by deceit they would overrun

these alien species they could adapt

to their body juices to survive

but equally for his kind plans existed

both races plots persisted!

Soon to be final wars for life to remain

on a ravaged aging planet

to decide the conquers hollow victory

with any remnants of hope

disappearing in oblivion and the void

the world at last destroyed!

Cliff Edge!

How could they end up on the cliff edge

she though it just another row

both moving apart surely a bad patch

until she mentioned her affair

only briefly while he worked abroad

her phone calls had ignored!

Met while young neither yet matured

but there was a special love

realising it may not save the marriage

could not change her actions

never expected to be up here pleading

as the marriage was receding!

Anguish had overtaken his whole being

drawing closer to oblivion

the cliff crumbling from beneath them

tried to hold him grip was lost

fell back onto the grass he disappeared

for a second the turmoil cleared!

Then reality hit her like a thunder bolt

the strain upon her a jolt

guilt tore her sanity completely apart

jumped with a broken heart!
