Free!

Within the once vast and open wilderness

where wild animals were free

passing their lives without intervention

from hunters and seekers of land

killing the prey for their breeds survival

fearing no human arrival!

 

No more their security and safety assured

as the numbers rapidly dwindle

some becoming extinct as the killing excels

left to die in agony and pain alone

poachers only interest the profits they make

not the misery they create!

 

The rich and ruthless have no mercy to give

for any destruction of animal life

nor the ever advancing human colonisation

and their shrinking habitation

creatures who should live and be protected

by many their rights not respected!

 

Man thinks on earth he is the superior being

not caring species are rapidly disappearing!

Unknown Origins!

What forms of life exist besides our own

is a question with no answer.

Microbes of unknown origins are here

in our upper atmosphere.

An event occurred that caused a big stir

no comparisons to refer!

 

The season when heavy rain was due to fall

had a frightening twist.

As the first drops battered the dry earth

they noticed it was red!

Surging down river beds overflowing drains

leaving unexplained stains!

 

From heaven above the bloody rain did descend

locals thinking an act of god!

But scientist were more pragmatic in approach

urgent samples now taken.

Eager to find the cause of the bleeding skies

searching facts not stories and lies!

 

Scientist universally studied the red waters

heard a meteorite had falling.

Reported crashing in the immediate area

wondering was there a link?

Collecting the broken pieces of space rock

it was a race against the clock.

 

Using high-resolution equipment to identify

if it was the same organism.

That could have created the blood-red rain

and a match was found!

To their dismay the life of unknown origin

was still rapidly growing!

 

Spores with no human DNA within its structure

where had they come from?

Was this the beginning of a real alien invasion

not by mass crafts of battle.

But life forms to attack humans on the inside

logical answers had been defied!

 

Unscathed by high temperatures it arrived

on earth of unknown origins thrived!

 

Could this be a threat to our very existence?
