It Started!

It started as a routine weekend in spring

dry and very sunny

heavy traffic buzz as the birds did sing

happy with no money

so young when love was all we needed

any warning never heeded!

 

Soon the late afternoon was upon us both

not noticing the time

just happy being in our own company

the clouds thickened

stopping as there was no sounds at all

except a faint call!

 

From a noisy street everyone had gone

no children’s laughter

empty ground where families played

just the two of us alone

above strange craft beams of blue light

the ground did ignite!

 

How we ran in a petrified state of terror

without a clue of the cause

near a railway track followed its route

hoping to see living beings

soon the lights were coming our way

we were somethings prey!

 

The railway station then came into sight

could see thousands

of humans crowded into a massive group

screams so mournful

creatures guarded with merciless intent

upon them cruelty did vent!

 

There was no resistance from any armies

they were in total control

without warning their will on us imposed

upon an unsuspecting earth

the beams seemingly erasing the population

a terrifying realisation!

 

These lizard like aliens were a grotesque sight

their numbers increased

as the human race disintegrated before us

from the intense glow

how we escaped to this moment do not know

man’s essence in rivers did flow!

 

The prophecy’s of a massive cull were true

not all were lost to the evil

a few innocent souls did escape the specters

determined to overcome

denying the elite their triumph and alliance

in the name of defiance!

Hand Shake!

It seemed just a welcoming handshake to others

that polite business meeting

nothing suspicious  that would draw attention

dressed in smart expensive suits

blending in with several other groups seated

each with a mission to be completed!

 

Nobody had noticed how pale their exposed skin

nor the dark lizard like eyes

everybody too busy using their expense accounts

occasionally discussing work

they were sat in a shaded corner in conversation

there was a rising aggravation!

 

And thirty minutes later two more entered

one a female her presence

made heads turn as she joined the others

the fourth settled into a chair

each with no emotion two more brief cases

put on the table blank faces!hip

 

Together got up leaving at a slow pace in silence

in the corridor just disappeared

thirty seconds later there was a huge explosion

and the office block imploded

from their ship they stood watching satisfied

the action must be intensified!

 

Cooperation with earth’s secret government

the long term agreement broken

now no longer aligned their pent-up anger

would quickly be unleashed

viewing humans as treacherous and violent

and never ending lament!

 

All alien units gathered at their moon base

watching from a distance

after destroying man’s nearby military camp

agents offices and nuclear sites

hoping without these destructive arsenals

man would stop acting like fools!

 

Preempting their ex partners plans in the alliance

were prepared to wipe them out

igniting their own charges on the Luna surface

knowing this was a possibility

taking off in the mother ship seconds to spare

a galactic war they would declare!

 

The unsuspecting human race soon would see

had no knowledge of any deceit

already reeling from the recent destruction

had no idea of what was to come

from the skies countless alien craft did appear

the suspected invasion here!

 

But as always nobody knew the real truth!
