Tracey!

At that passed memory a deep sigh

thinking of a love lost

realising feelings had grown

pondering at what cost

confused my mind screamed out

life felt empty and hollow

nothing could console or cheer me

not happy then at being free!

So empty many endless hours to fill

what was Tracey doing now

grieving for her those soft moist lips

will always love her somehow

missing her tender passionate touch

it hurts deep down inside

wishing my tears would no longer fall

knowing Tracey no more would call!

Those hours and minutes slowly ticked by

solitude filled my years

that telephone message haunts me now

when her voice spoke harsh

never wanting to see or speak to me again

her reasons never did explain!

Had only left her bed twelve hours before

what went wrong a conundrum for sure

from that period in my life never redeemed

a passion for a lover I had so long dreamed!

Over thirty years have gone by a closure rejected

that love permanently disconnected!

Stopped!

The SUV had stopped on a busy carriageway

cars drivers horns blaring annoyed

as it blocked the progress in their journeys

eventually an off duty cop came by

could see the driver so got out to investigate

intended with them to berate!

Called for assistance to help with the traffic flow

approached the vehicle with caution

noticed scorch marks upon the roof looked in

everything was still felt uneasy

tapped the window speaking no reply or reaction

could see the face lifeless and waxen!

With consternation guardedly opened the car door

there was a smell of burnt meat

heat coming off the still body gripping the wheel

made him retch and shudder

recoiling could do nothing for this poor bastard

too long in the job had made him hard!

Instincts made him ponder the actual cause

it was unusual and bloody creepy

knew this was somehow a professional hit

never seen this in his many years

scouring the skies in all directions perceived

knew his theory would no be believed!

Though could not detect any by sight or sound

had heard drones were deployed

their purpose maybe more than observation

these thoughts could not express

in fear of his own and families continuation

and for their eternal damnation!

Leaving it to the traffic division left his lips sealed!

So Pale!

Admittedly a lot pints of beer was consumed

though he would not admit

that alcohol had addled his mind and vision

she did walk from the shadows

tall all in black so pale with blood on lips

dropping from her chin in drips!

Shocked tripped hit his head on a metal post

when he woke was there alone

friends searching found him helping home

here related what he saw

when earlier while passing the playground

turned when hearing  a sound!

Kept saying it was a vampire but they all laughed

he was classed as the fool

you were just drunk his mates said laughing

yet he was a terrified man

the bad dreams kept recurring each one worse

with him none would converse!

Afraid to leave his house after darkness descended

thinking maybe it was the drink

after months was persuaded to venture to a club

the encounters while sleeping

had stopped now sure it was in his imagination

just his own drunken creation!

With the intention to never being blotto again

the evening was uneventful

so good not to be the centre of fun any more

having just a couple of lagers

decided to leave early taking the same route

glad he went it was a hoot.

Nervous kept checking that nobody was about

tired quickly settled in bed

sleep came easy and then had an awful dream

the women was in the room

she came ever closer he was totally paralysed

waking it was now he realised!

This time it was happening the pain excruciating

but he could make no sound

the hauntingly attractive vampire stood wide

his blood around her mouth

it had been true his eyes glazed was this the end

not for him his body did transcend!

It went dark suddenly felt a surge woke painless

and a terrible thirst not for food

standing by him was the tall mysterious women

who took his hand it was good

leaving together she had chosen her latest mate

the blood lust could accelerate!

Those who doubted his sanity and integrity

with their lives would pay!

Now he was so pale!
