Missed!

He missed that touch and sound of her soft voice

as the coffin was lowered into the grave

why had she died the autopsy was inconclusive

suicide was on her death certificate

married for five years his childhood sweetheart

never thought so soon they would part!

There by his side their son who was distraught

just turned eighteen they were close

his eyes viewed the casket as he threw a rose

just before reluctantly leaving

unable to accept she would take her own life

this he knew of his wife!

What had happened repeating the question

over and over in his mind

she worked hard too often away on business

never spoke of her own job

as it entailed secretive government contracts

concerned she had to hide the facts!

Shattered receiving that middle of the night call

worried from her had not heard

tried to phone countless times but got no reply

leaving earlier with a kiss and touch

promised that she would be save while gone

knew she was positive and strong!

Mentioned a car on several occasions had followed

closely behind while out and about

but brushed it off saying it was nothing of concern

expressed anxiety but said do not to worry

on reflection recalling how sinister her voice tone

surely the dangers should have known!

Told the police when questioned soon after his loss

mentioned his fears and what she said

nothing was done believing she had taken her life

closing the case and filing it away

he was certain she had been silenced for a reason

eliminated for what they classed as treason?

Or  uncovered information not for public consumption

sealing her inevitable death or just his  presumption

laying in their bed turned to where she always laid

knowing her spirit was there but still very afraid!

Caressed!

On a humid late August evening

the couple sat on a bench

the sun gave them the spotlight

romance filled their thoughts

until in the skies they witnessed

a plane the air it caressed!

To them seemed it had just taken off

yet no sound in their ears

as they felt the surging passion to kiss

the plane stopped in the sky

surely an unimaginable gravity action

now becoming a total attraction!

Thoughts of love on a summer’s evening

gone staring in disbelief

was moving backwards how could it be

still there not descending

or crashing upon the township below

minds confused did not know!

Nobody else was anywhere to be seen

holding their gaze necks strained

again came to a halt how could this be

moved in a forward motion

speeding up as helicopters approached

unmarked on its space encroached!

Within a second became a saucer shape

disappearing as if dissolved

running petrified at this weird sight

what was happening above

an unsolved mystery that is spreading

our future should we be dreading?

Increased sightings of strange craft in motion

going against our understanding

what enables them to fly in our atmosphere

are they of extraterrestrial origin

or human intervention hidden from our view

the masses just want to screw!

Most unaware of dangers that surrounds them!

True Love!

He had waited it seemed so long for love

then his heart pounded

at an office party found himself drawn

to a very alluring lady

had never seen her before this night

beautiful a pure delight!

They talked and danced until early light

they were meant to be

eventually parted after a passionate kiss

confirming their second date

over the next few months love bloomed

he was unaware it was doomed!

At the start all was a life of magical bliss

within a month moving in

love-making was good yet it felt wrong

she acted too clinical

soon noticed she did not eat anything

or drink alarm bells did ring!

From that initial attraction suspicion grew

there was a coldness

he had not noticed before becoming wary

yet she looked so perfect

decided it best to end this strained affair

his life with her could not share!

Why had he got that reluctance to explain

why his feelings had changed

but summing up the courage now spoke

she seemed more distant

as they sat together on the large settee

he just wanted to be free!

From being truly elated he had found love

to dumping the stunning woman

but he had become terrified being close

after the words were spoken

her mood changed and the reply stark

as venomous words it did spark!

Without emotion said he could not leave

had never loved a human before

was an android living within our society

he was shaken to the core

got up to escape this beast foolishly said

its hand hit his head!

Down in the busy street a body battered

on the pavement spattered!

He never did find his true Love!

The Foureyed Poet.

Special Day!

That special day has finally arrived

plans made hoping all is well

beginning of our adventure together

preparations completed ready

a nervous groom waits for his bride

standing nowhere to hide!

Soon she will walk down the aisle

two people to be joined

music starts to play nerves are taut

relieved as she is here

now together for that moment stand

promises a kiss hand in hand!

Behind family and friends sit watching

now smiles on your faces

turning to congratulations and praises

signing the register married

feeling of relief cameras start clicking

your married the clock is ticking!

Realising now two families are united

everybody happy and delighted

their perfect love match and marriage

or divorce hate then disengage!

The Foureyed Poet.

Aware!

An odd sensation was all she was aware

a pain and the darkness

awoke suddenly alone in her apartment

as if from a deep sleep

everything seemed exactly as before

yet different was so sure!

On the large settee she found herself laid

adjusting her blurred vision

her pet dog came to lick the hanging hand

but never felt the sensation

concerned sat up it was then she realised

life had been deprived!

Her body was on the settee white and still

yet she seemed so real

the dog slowly backed away as if in fear

her husband came in

from a night shift and to her side ran

a tired shattered man!

She had loved him now could not touch

only watch as he tried

to revive the woman he had just wed

phoning for an ambulance

in shock laid beside her loudly praying

their pet with a ball playing!

Paramedics came very quickly with aid

watching expecting the light

her husband holding their fluffy pet dog

hearing every word they said

both tried everything to start the heart

not wanting her forever to part!

Surely it was too late life had now passed

but a weird sensation

more pain a deep breath and a gentle kiss

a warm hand gentle breath

knowing she was back alive and not alone

really hearing his soft tone!

Upon a stretcher drips in arms on oxygen

heading to the medical centre

heard a voice an image of her dead father

faintly saying not your time

my precious child but I am always near

later was certain she did hear!

Eighteen months seemed to have flown by

their dreams had come true

back in hospital for birth of their child

the problems now melted away

happily over time her strength grew

incredibly life had begun anew!

Tight Grip!

Entering a busy hotel the man was surprised

from his wife’s hand pulled apart

finding himself in a side room pushed in a crush

wondering where his she had gone

suddenly felt like a cold hand tight did grip

the shock made him bite his lip!

As he quivered afraid to move his spouse entered

seeing him with a gripped fist

as she approached shaken he gave her a loving hug

telling of his unexpected experience

giving a patronizing smile she gave him a kiss

this rare moment could not resist.

Unknown to them the hotel had a ghostly reputation

having many ghostly guests in situ

but it was meant to be a weekend break together

no thought then of any apparitions

but his enthusiasm had waned with the experience

not thinking it was nonsense!

After changing in their room with a four-poster bed

not noticing items falling on the floor

went down for a candle lit dinner in the oak panelled

dinning room with antiques on the wall

here the waitress enlightened them on the pubs past

and the couple were aghast!

After a lot of wine plucked up the courage to return

it seemed to the most haunted room

with more confidence and rather drunk fell asleep

around two he was rudely awoken

as the television roared out of bed hubby did roll

his wife his pain did not console!

She sat up to drunk to care laughed at his misfortune

unaware of a shadowy shape close by

but he had seen it and was sobering up at the sight

realising the room was quiet again

confused at the sudden activity trying to tell his wife

with this moment filled with strife!

Soon his beloved was shaken awake from any slumber

as the bed started to vibrate

even lifting off the thick patterned bedroom carpet

in a state of disbelief screamed

as it started it was once more at rest dressing decided

they would find another hotel instead!

Gathering their belonging got out of there post-haste

the night receptionist looked concerned

trying hard to hide a very amused disinterested face

she had seen it many times before

and arranged other accommodation for those scared

who here to stay longer were not prepared!

With a sigh of relief the couple left the haunted hotel!

The Kiss

As he laid dying in the hospital unit

no family to say goodbye

alone since his precious wife’s death

living on his memories

few friends always two inseparable

living by their own rule.

Even now reminiscing her gentle kiss

that gave him such warmth

a purpose to go and work each day

knowing she was waiting

and another kiss when he returned

for those days he yearned.

Unable to move far relying on others

his thoughts were fading

yet remembered his love and her kiss

making his last days good

that moment came he joined his wife

forever in another life!

Nurses found him his lips puckered in a kiss!

Tearful Parting!

In her tear filled eyes it could be seen

the anxiety of his parting.

Overwhelming this she couldn’t hide

a future without him foreseen!

To both visible emotion building inside

that neither could hide!

In his uniform no prouder wife around

preparing to part with his unit.

A six month tour fraught with danger

not alone in these fears!

With that one last farewell tender kiss

they could never miss.

This was his third tour would the  luck last

each harder to accept.

That nagging thought would he come back

yet he wanted to go!.

With great composure the children waved

any bad thoughts he staved!

It hurt that last wave and tearful parting

from this mission didn’t return!

They knew but words couldn’t express

remembering that last caress.

The family was reunited once more

when he was carried home!

Reminisce!

Often I reminisce at that decision when young

but it was you who left.

Even to this day remember that kiss goodbye

that ruled our progress.

Realising from then it had always been  you

the one I loved true.

Then nothing was taken seriously life was fun

searching our destinies.

Loving someone to us stories and weepy films

and the freedom to roam.

But when maturity sets in you see what’s lost

regretting the personal cost.

Years I searched for the girl I simply let go

that took losing to know.

By chance on a social sight I saw your face

could our past be fulfilled?

Enjoying those years that should have been

if only we had foreseen.

Here now with a bouquet of flowers to give

standing by your grave.

The reunion had come for us just too late

by you I kneel and remember.

That gentle person warm bubbly and sweet

your kiss and smile until we meet.

The sun was shinning and you were there

my precious lady my tears I share!
