A Poltergeist Came haunting!

It was just an ordinary semi-detached house

in the poorer part of the borough

mum and her four children struggled to exist there

but the situation was to get worse

one day without warning a poltergeist came haunting

to the family would become daunting!

 

Bangs and voices seemed to affect the younger sister

tapping in walls and on doors

yet it was claimed nobody was about to create it

shuffling noises objects moving

built the terror for the family coming out the blue

soon a nightmare to live through!

 

As the weeks past the incidents become persistent

the story reached the editor

of a leading national paper who sent a reporter

and photographer to the scene

sceptical at these claims of ghostly phenomenon

rest for them all would be none!

 

While the photographer was present items flew

a small plastic brick hit him

above the right eye brow which bled marbles to

yet on developing nothing seen

the beginning was August nineteen seventy-seven

when the police called the girl eleven!

 

The mother reported furniture had been moved

during a search the police woman

said she was sure a chair had slid across the floor

after trying to recreate the incident

had to admit it was a mystery on what occurred

maybe something unnatural here stirred!

 

So the activity continued onward into another year

an investigator showed interest

he was a member of paranormal research society

drawn to the case as he had lost

a child the same age and name as the troubled girl

all his energy did hurl!

 

Soon a writer came too thinking here was a story

a truly lifelong skeptic

together spent much time keen to investigate

one with true intent and sympathy

the other first for the story but then interested

but their patience would be tested!

 

At times were certain the girls were the creators

moving and hiding objects

even making some of the sounds they were young

they saw the younger girl levitating

also witnessed by a school crossing lady and baker

it was a mind shaker!

 

In total disbelief saw it through a bedroom window

yet many thought it was a hoax

the game changer came when the girl then spoke

in a deep old mans voice

but even then many said it was herself creating it

but the facts did not fit!

 

The voice sounded as clear even after several hours

many recordings were made

eventually said its name was Bill and died in the house

told them he had passed

having a haemorrhage and going blind before he died

in a chair their shock could not hide!

 

Because soon after had a call from the son of this man

confirming it was all true

name where and how his death occurred was accurate

there was pressure applied

a decision made the girl needed a psychiatric assessment

nothing was wrong the final judgement!

 

Though thirty years ago opinions still widely divided

on the truth of this unique case

and is still a mystery that has never been resolved

all the children are still alive

though the activity by late seventy-eight had faded

still not completely ended all felt invaded!

 

An ongoing open question do ghosts and spirits exist

many paranormal minded thinkers persist

finding evidence even the sceptics find hard to scorn

opinions on fact or fiction greatly torn!

The Beginning!

For the novice investigator this was the first

investigation he had ever been on

but hoped this would be only the introduction

as yet uncertain how it would feel

was consistently sceptic with an open mind

that hoped soon would be defined!

 

Apprehensive sitting in the car with experienced

members of the paranormal group

heading towards their chosen haunted location

was a moment for him to savor

as the ominous grey walls of the castle loomed

his imagination was consumed!

 

Stopping in the car park the walls were so high

and the imagination strong

seeing soldiers peering from the battlements

ready to defend the castle

as the rest of the team arrived reality dawned

and the investigation was spawned!

 

No mediums were involved within the group

more of a scientific approach

once the site briefing had been completed

the night’s hunting now under way

now it was the real action or so he thought

as for the unknown he sought!

 

In the different locations he sat very patiently

listening for any unusual noises

or see movements in the complete darkness

which seemed an odd request

armed with a torch and camcorders nearby

being more sensitive than the eye!

 

Digital recorders hoping to pick up unseen voices

almost afraid to cough or breath

this did not seem like all those television shows

with knocks and bangs and orbs

acting intelligently a manifesting spirit we are told

at this moment on this was not sold!

 

Yet it was exciting to be really there not watching

willing for something to happen

apart from the odd noise that was probably natural

everything  to him was normal

the lead investigator said he saw a shape on the wall

to him looked sharp and tall!

 

But for the new investigator nothing was to be seen

told a spirit was  next to him

and a shadowy figure was close behind following

he neither felt nor saw anything

the odd chill ran up his spine probably just dread

he might be amongst the dead!

 

The  investigation eventually came to a conclusion

around three in the morning

the group not believe in having all night sessions

as imagination through being tired

could contaminate evidence that had been found

this seemed logically sound!

 

It was only the beginning for the enthusiastic cub

and he hoped many chances

would occur when he might  meet those passed

after all this was why he joined

leaving certainly could not wait for the next event

positive in his future intent!

 

He knew this was only the beginning!
