Eli!

The young girl walked very slowly

down a crowded and noisy street

head bowed feeling alone so lowly

not wanting to talk shuffling her feet

dejection showed in her pretty face

looking much older than her years

another statistic lost without trace

in dingy streets where evil appears

each day filled with so deep despair

forced to be abused just to survive

felt no decent human was out there

not caring if she were dead or alive

sixteen years had passed Eli by

parents threw her out at fifteen

confused upset wondering why

learning how life could be so mean

met a man she thought was nice

but he introduced her to drugs

which led in a short time to vice

he was a pimp one of many thugs

she was deep in a unable to escape

began to think death the one release

desperately contacted an old mate

who unknown had joined the police

through an inner strength and will

helping her got away from the shit

now happy at eighteen no longer ill

survived to tell had risen from the pit!

Joyfully a young life had been saved

from the clutches of exploitation

hoping her life from now on paved

with respect and full of celebration!

Car!

The city centre was busy as usual

vehicles speeding and too close

even the pavement was crowded

he noticed a large dark car

windows tinted zero view of inside

no matter how hard he tried!

Ended up in a large department store

though there were other cars

this one made him very uncomfortable

alarm bells rang in his head

eventually managed fine more space

but it had gone without a trace!

There had been no alert it stayed quiet

cameras watched every move

without privacy for humans anymore

every single action analysed

amongst shoppers roamed detectives

security was their objectives!

Facial recognition number plate as well

no hiding place for anybody

in a culture afraid of its own population

as the public have accepted

this constant never ending observation

of our lives complete infiltration!

There is no private moments anymore

twenty four seven watched

for our security is the stock official cry

but how far does it extend

birth to death our movements known

we are never today alone!

Deep Feeling!

That deep feeling of doom gripped her as she entered

the vast busy rail station terminal

on her way to see friends she had not seen for years

everything seemed well as she waited

for the train to arrive sat happily as people hurried by

hoping the time would fly!

Started to doze having to get up so early still so tired

but thoughts of panic soon woke her up

a chill slowly descended on her body so had to stand

everything seemed to be hyper sensitive

footsteps the people talking everything was hazy

was she actually going crazy!

Tried calling he sister but there was no signal at all

looking up at the time-table board

saw the train was due in made her way to the track

pulling her case on tiny wheels

even that was heavier than normal just wanted rest

there was a deep memory suppressed!

Placed her case in the luggage rack near carriage door

a little easier in the comfortable seat

how her head now hurt what could she not remember

could not recall what she did last night

began to feel tense as the train pulled out the station

her blank mind causing frustration!

As the train picked up speed she had flashes of images

like a bullet hit her confused brain

saw a man making love with her both stark naked

images of an object put in her case

handed a mobile telephone told she must get the train

her composure she must maintain!

Those early feelings of well-being were now long gone

she was here for another purpose

who was she really somebody had got into her mind

the mobile started to ring loudly

a text message simply read it is your time this day

then clearly knew no running away!

It was a loud explosion that rocked the quiet town!

They Came!

Just a pleasant stroll in the early morning

heading to an open field so quiet

the young energetic dog lively on its run

then from nowhere they came

creatures with large bulging eyes and grey

not here with the pet to play!

In the rising mist in eery silence revealed

as the dog stopped running away

there in disbelief could not take in the sight

instinctively taking steps back

knowing their presence must be detected

this event totally unexpected!

She knew not from whence the beasts came

composure hard to sustain

reached her pickup truck heard the sound

of her dog but did not return

engine would not start as the grey creature

on her windscreen did feature!

Dead emotionless eyes stared directly at her

in the glove compartment

reached for a handgun instinctively aimed

the shell exploded out

shattering the screen and the aliens head

before the truck the body spread!

There were too many she was overwhelmed

struggling was dragged away

screams unheard from a farmhouse nearby

witnesses saw a metallic craft

hovering in the sky then in an instance gone

few aware of the phenomenon!

A farmer out before the break of a new dawn

discovered the damaged truck

close by a pistol lay discarded on the grass

near a black sticky gunge

nothing else was there to be seen or heard

fearful of what had occurred!

No bodies were found the mystery remains

the sightings from then on increased

officials said it must be weather or planes

denied anybody was missing or deceased!

Enclosed!

There alone in the room felt enclosed

yet somehow something lingered

sounds though faint made him shiver

no radio or any other distractions

could have made those creepy sounds

as knocking in his head pounds!

What was so close yet he could not see

nothing visible but why so petrified

afraid to move or look around the room

surely this must be his imagination

his breath now was becoming strained

his strength and willpower drained!

The open door closed wanted to scream

the air chilled heard a faint whisper

understood not a syllable of any words

mouth became so dry his heart raced

on his sweaty neck a sudden sharp pain

no longer within could he remain!

What was here tormenting his very being

a shadow appeared and circled him

a physical push made him fall to his knees

summing up what energy he had left

crawled to the door struggling to his feet

prayed this specter he could defeat!

As it began that awful sensation had gone

but the scars within were really strong

what had happened just could not explain

to this day vividly remains in his brain!

Voices!

At fifteen thought life was fun an adventure

as she entered the church

behind her parents they were on holiday

her sister followed behind

from a young age heard voices in her head

knew they were of the dead!

For a while suppressed the sounds in her mind

but within the ancient building

had started again echoing from every angle

her parents had no idea

but had to confide with her younger sibling

knowing trouble it may bring!

Wanted to get out yet for the first time saw

what looked liked a woman

knew was not really there felt compelled

to approach and listen

such a soft voice speaking lonely and sad

for somebody to hear so glad!

Before she could approach her parents called

glancing back she had gone

for a moment heard nothing until a loud cry

as the ghost was by her side

that asked to be free from her perpetual hell

overwhelmed had a fainting spell!

It was a surprise to find herself laying down

sitting up her parents concerned

sat beside her grinning sister had to stand

then turned running to the exit

as even more voices shouted within her head

clearer she caught the thread!

Trapped souls were seeking her help to be free

away from the growing evil

let them go on into the internal peace and light

yet amongst the constant noise

knew there was a darkness growing all around

that was earth-bound!

Inwardly panicked began to drain her spirituality

as the woman once more

came speaking calmly now with an angelic glow

realised it was an angel here

to guide this young adult with her special role

to save each lost and lonely soul!

Yet still had a place on the earth with a loving family

to give her strength and support

in a harsh and ever-growing violent material society

where she found the love and joy

now she was able to see and understand true grace

so the future now could face!

The Occupant!

The house was drab with a ghoulish feel

the occupant invited her in

a rather frail lady using a walking stick

she was nervous being new

should have support from a senior nurse

but alone would have to converse!

who had been taken ill at very short notice

the patient had just come back

from convalescent home living here alone

the duty of the district nurse

was to check dressings and complications

including well-being of patients!

Though looked quite well was rather creepy

imagining her as a witch

that thought was not helped as a black cat

strolled into the large room

wanting to get on tried to see the dressing

but now had begun stressing!

What a first case to have been assigned to do

the room was extremely dingy

curtains were closed her anxiety was high

eventually the task completed

cleared up and was prepared for an exit

when the lady said why not sit?

Offered to make the nurse a tea or coffee

for showing such kindness

shaking just wanting to run then the clock

chimed loudly she jumped

making excuses turned to run and tripped

over the cat her head clipped!

Got up a trickle of blood from a small wound

ran down her now pale face

a little dizzy managed to leave glancing back

the elderly woman stood

staring out in her arms the dreaded cat

the enthusiasm had gone flat!

Walked away out of sight back to the car

blood dripped on the uniform

decided it best to return to the surgery

but then lost consciousness

awoke by her loud mobile phone tone

very cold and still alone!

A fellow nurse rang to see if she was alright

said no need visit the patient

whose address she had minutes ago left

until she saw the time

on the large man’s wristwatch she wore

it was now twelve forty-four!

She had been here over two hours asleep

not thinking it was the fall

her friend said the old lady had died

last evening at home

trying very hard not to scream aloud

in her hands head bowed!

What had she seen it was so surreal

in her interior mirror saw

the wound and track of dried blood

how her head throbbed

there was nobody at all in the street

sat firmly in the car seat!

Petrified called her boyfriend to come!

This Bloody State!

He remembered the noise of glass shattering

showering over his face

a glimpse of a baseball bat or something

then being roughly dragged

but nothing after that hard bang on his head

waking in a strange bed!

Bits of memory came then as quickly it faded

what had happened to him

on his finger was a shinny gold wedding ring

was he a married man

how had he actually got in this bloody state

memories he could not collate!

Beside him a policeman stood near on guard

what else could he be doing

everything was so blurry beyond his position

there were muffled voices

his anxiety and paranoia rapidly growing

the despair of not knowing!

Slipping once more into unconsciousness

being shaken from this state

a man and a woman looked down blankly

making his body shudder

a nurse came to assist removing his mask

questions they wanted to ask!

A second nurse helped make him comfortable

raising the pillow for his head

They asked him if he remembered anything

of the road rage incident

Where a man had been killed near his car

as the anger went to far!

This seemed to trigger suppressed memories

as he recalled causing the shunt

going to the vehicle with a bat breaking glass

incensed and with bad intent

pulling the man out it was he who attacked

the thoughts came pouring back!

In turn was hit from behind by an accomplice

but none of this would admit

even though witnesses had come forward

he kept his mouth tightly shut

realising they could soon find out he was fake

his orders not to kill but take!

An under cover agent on a botched covert mission

he waited for his team to come!

The Birthday Party!

It would be a party to remember they had said

before leaving for the club.

Already light-headed from the drink consumed

bought from the super market.

The happy group was soon at the night spot

eagerly having their first shot!

No cares in the world as the music became louder

one girl in particular was noisy.

Known for her vile temper especially after drinking

by midnight it became a frenzy.

They were dancing when a group of lads arrived

and their privacy deprived!

Enjoying themselves in their male free booze zone

the girl with the angry streak.

Began objecting to their very suggestive behaviour

after all it was her birthday party.

as one lad tried to kiss her she exploded in rage

her life turned to a dark page!

From the noisy and exciting birthday bash into chaos

as she picked up a bottle.

Bringing it down on his head with a violent force

he collapsed on the floor!

Amongst the other revellers and screaming mates

with her no time for debates!

Realising what she had done ran out in a panic

not only pursued by bouncers.

Her disbelieving friends and his yelling mates

who were intent on revenge!

The last girl they caught pushing her into a fence

no chance of defence!

Police soon arrested the angry warring teenagers

arresting the girl and the male.

The birthday ending in a sad and violent affray

but both victims recovered well.

Lessons were learnt as it could have been a life lost

at an irreversible cost!

Justice was served a suspended sentence for her

and a caution for them!

It did not stop them getting drunk a few weeks later!

Dark Knight

Shimmering on that bright yet unspoilt sunny morn

the Dark Knights armour created a shadow.

Standing like a giant before his loyal army

six horses approached upon their backs.

Rode six  more knights warriors full of pride

an ancient elite force were now by his side.

A vast enemy camp lay below them in the early mist

tension was high dark clouds filled the sky.

Fighting for months the force was now cornered

thinking of his Lady Claire whom he had saved.

From the clutches of the Barron who had taken her

his nerves building up how the anger did stir.

Mounting his steed the Dark knight drew his sword

Remembering his Lady as the seven rode forward.

Joining them the rest of the mounted soldiers

followed by his trusty band of loyal men.

In unison silently they headed into the fight

lead by this proud and brave Dark Knight.

As the enemy army below awoke to this new day

unaware of what was about to befall the camp.

An irritated Barron came out from of his stately tent

with a sense of impending danger in the air.

Weary of the never ending drive for power

not even he knew of his own final hour.

The Dark Knight had no idea his enemy had lived

his sword hadn’t pierced the Barron’s chain mail.

Almost laughing thinking how he had cheated death

the scar on his upper arm still giving him pain.

He knew that the final battle would soon begin

wanting more victims blood upon his skin.

Reflections were short lived as the lookouts yelled

a massive army was very close at hand.

Coming towards him the Dark Knight charged

head long into the camp slashing and thrusting.

A complete surprise to the sleepy enemy force

no time to repel as history took its course.

The bloody onslaught raged on through the day

as heavy rain began to form a pit from the depths.

As the knights numbers began to dwindle.

a lone figure stood there in the thick mud

The Dark knight looked in a disbelieving stare

only one would walk away alive from there.

The eye contact was short as The Dark Knight

with no mercy made sure his foe died.

Dispatching in one thrust The Barron’s head

this time he knew the monster was really dead.
