Touch!

Not used to that touch of a hand on her face

that smile and soft kind eyes

there was no evil glare of intent as they hit

her frail body in terror alone

abused for days without food or any drink

to quench or give her strength

to sustain this innocent young persons fear

for her there was no mercy near!

 

Managed to escape these captors who cruelly

wrenched her away from friends

while out just walking and so happily chatting

lured by men who seemed kind

who offered to buy them all drink to consume

but the others were suspicious

and got away but she sadly was not fortunate

realising the dangers far too late!

 

Her parents were frantic at receiving the news

a wide search was implemented

every news outlet carried the abduction story

from days into weeks fear grew

all this time the brave girl never gave up hope

her chance came as they slept

weak yet the adrenaline flowed had to get back

courage and determination did not lack!

 

Shivering so scared was picked up by a police

patrol unit who had been called

by a worried resident who saw her pass by

their house but had walked on

there on a bench she sat eyes full of tears

the police woman showed that

gentle touch that had been so long denied

sitting closely by her side!

 

Then the voice she knew so well mum was here

united with love that hug so good

the shaking subsided now safe dad and sister to

together in unity alive and snug

never wanting to ever let any of them out of sight

as her arms gripped them so tight!

Mates Flat!

The surroundings of his mates new flat

were certainly unfamiliar

how they got back was a real mystery

waking up on the lumpy couch

needing to find a toilet for an urgent pee

but it was difficult to see!

 

No idea where the bathroom was situated

hitting furniture with bare feet

unable to detect the light switches as well

eventually blundering there

relieved stared at a mirror above the sink

saw his mate in a blink!

 

Spinning around nobody was in there with him

he ran out the taps turned on

hitting every surface saw his mate sprawled

half on and off the king size bed

a naked girl laid there by his side both asleep

head filled noise of a mournful weep!

 

This shocked him into waking up hang over gone

alone in the lounge no girl for this guy

never lucky with females just got far too drunk

clothes scattered sat in underpants

on the settee a seat cushion suddenly depressed

heart missed a beat in chest!

 

Could not see anybody yet an impression visible

shivering it was though no longer alone

quickly jumped up as arm was gripped so tightly

had never been here ever before

knew at that crucial moment his life was at risk

an exit needed to be brisk!

 

Without any care though nearly nude ran

to the door hoping it would open

a distortion within the dim light faced him

with a tug of war with the handle

it suddenly sprung open was hurled back

hitting the wall with a whack!

 

Seconds later a force threw his body outside

bruised stood looking at the entrance

there was a blackness so dense had to recoil

then the door slammed with a bang

never moved so fast in his life into the night

with sickening and fearful flight!

 

On the news a days later heard two discovered

both found dead in a bachelor pad

too afraid to come forward lived with unease

often wondered why his life spared

what malevolent entity had been in that dwelling

innocent life for some reason quelling!

 

Now each day was a challenge would it come for him?

 

Regretting ever going to his mates flat?

The Cruise!

The middle-aged couple looked over the ocean

on the deck of the cruise liner

enjoying the warm beautiful Caribbean sunset

sipping a fruity red wine

unaware of the creature crawling up the side

for them nowhere to hide!

 

Leaving a slime trail it slithered over the rail

down onto the empty deck

silently approaching the contented couple

opening its jaws wide

now exposing large angled razor-sharp teeth

death came from beneath!

 

There was no time to give any warning cry

the man savaged and swallowed

the woman violently knocked overboard

unable to make a sound

falling to more sea monsters basking below

her blood no longer did flow!

 

Unaware of the nearing danger passengers

slept or partied as normal

the captain still on duty pacing the bridge

viewing the radar at the blips

wondering what was causing this oddity

then not knowing their ferocity!

 

Rare thinking a schooling of fish were passing

not for long as reports came in

of monstrous creatures swarming the ship

attacking everybody on all levels

immediately sending out an urgent Mayday call

before their end did befall!

 

But for a twist of fate the message was delayed

was it the position on the sea

or an electrical storm that distorted the signal

by the time any rescue arrived

no life remained upon this passenger vessel

a mystery searchers had to wrestle!

 

Now classed a crime scene the ship was towed

from its very remote last position

but underneath the hull these creatures gripped

with powerful suckers undetected

into the main sea port ready to unleash their terror

that would become a shocking error!

 

The nightmare had just begun!
