The Patrol!

The patrol car turned into a well-known road

darkness had fallen

ahead the headlights shone on a bent shape

that turned their way

it had hideous features and glowing red eyes

they found hard to analyze!

 

Uncertain what it could be got out to investigate

instantly it ran up the building side

seconds later gone from the policemen’s view

leaving them perplexed at this feat

concerned at the threat saw the bundle so still

certain it was a fresh kill!

 

Approaching they could see it was a woman

assuming she was dead

went to take a closer look when she stood up

surprisingly spoke clearly

said took wrong turning heard a commotion

what it was had no notion!

 

Traumatized she was in fear of her own being

conveyed her to a casualty unit

as a precaution in case of any physical injuries

but psychological more a concern

something about her demeanor seemed odd

a wary path they both trod!

 

While the doctor examined her they waited

a female colleague had been called

reluctantly lingered feeling all was not well

almost  expecting trouble

as they thought it a commotion occurred

as disturbing noises were heard!

 

Before taking a step the girl flashed passed

ripping the curtains down

knocking them and nurse off their feet

the doctor now on the floor

slowly sat on the gurney shaken and dazed

again their anxiety raised!

 

No marks seen on her yet had a vacant stare

she must be infected but how

both had been in contact yet felt alright

other questions came to mind

radioed base to warn them of the danger

this situation a life changer!

 

Tried keeping others away to secure the space

but the doctor lunged at them

managed to avoid her but a patient was hit

throwing him through partition

the officers gave chase then from overhead

a flying beast with wings spread!

 

The older officer thrust violently to the ground

by an insect like creature

over his face the saliva dripped into his mouth

his partner fired at the beast

who rapidly flew into the black sky unharmed

it seemed the officer was charmed!

 

But within a short time span had that odd look

his disposition had changed to

standing up walked away ignoring the shouts

of his friend and colleague

nearby the two women in the shadows waited

for the new beast just created!

 

Their metamorphoses had begun they departed

as the lone police officer

stood knowing his suspicions were confirmed

behind him police sirens wailed

now to his superiors he would have to explain

monsters had entered our domain!

 

Whether there was a future hung on his words

above the beasts hovered like birds!
