Started!

Started like any other weekend with three mates

worked hard in the week

so why not have fun when your work was done

met in the town centre

just after ten in the evening at their favourite bar

after that the night became bazaar!

Music loud the booze flowed and they all flirted

with the girls behind the bar

until a stunning woman came over for a chat

as she mesmerized the trio

at the beginning friendly and macho chitchat

thinking she was a pussy cat!

But the rivalry began as jealousy was exhibited

she was enjoying teasing them

this was when she offered the small purple pills

they assumed she was a dealer

but alcohol had muddled their thought process

took them as over her did obsess!

At some point walked away her task completed

the chemicals quickly acted

his mates collapsed onto the crowded dance floor

medical help called but too late

both had a seizure their life forces ceased to exist

their destruction could not resist!

Somehow he managed to leave once in the air fell

unconscious on the littered street

everybody walked around this drunken reveller

as he found himself in a field

relaxed with no head ache on a bright sunny day

with the smell of fresh-cut hay!

No noise of music or lights or that crowded bar

his last clear memory

seemed real how had he been transported here

confused stood upon the field

as towards him a familiar female now appeared

that for some reason feared!

She spoke coming up closely to his surprised face

glad you survived my potion

into my world you are the one I want to share

her face changed to a grotesque mask

she exposed fangs bit into his neck felt the pain

the adrenaline filled his brain!

Darkness then flashing blinding colours erupted

screaming violently thrashing about

awoke with a jolt in a fast food outlet dazed

opposite the woman sat staring

two coffees on the grubby table gripped his hand

was this a permanent dreamland?

Drink your coffee its time for us to hunt and feed!

Touch!

Not used to that touch of a hand on her face

that smile and soft kind eyes

there was no evil glare of intent as they hit

her frail body in terror alone

abused for days without food or any drink

to quench or give her strength

to sustain this innocent young persons fear

for her there was no mercy near!

Managed to escape these captors who cruelly

wrenched her away from friends

while out just walking and so happily chatting

lured by men who seemed kind

who offered to buy them all drink to consume

but the others were suspicious

and got away but she sadly was not fortunate

realising the dangers far too late!

Her parents were frantic at receiving the news

a wide search was implemented

every news outlet carried the abduction story

from days into weeks fear grew

all this time the brave girl never gave up hope

her chance came as they slept

weak yet the adrenaline flowed had to get back

courage and determination did not lack!

Shivering so scared was picked up by a police

patrol unit who had been called

by a worried resident who saw her pass by

their house but had walked on

there on a bench she sat eyes full of tears

the police woman showed that

gentle touch that had been so long denied

sitting closely by her side!

Then the voice she knew so well mum was here

united with love that hug so good

the shaking subsided now safe dad and sister to

together in unity alive and snug

never wanting to ever let any of them out of sight

as her arms gripped them so tight!

Street Scene!

There in the gutter she sat disheveled

bruised a cut on her forehead

a passing motorist witnessed the attack

as two thugs punched the girl

dragging her onto the sodden roadway

in a callous and brutal display!

Being disturbed by the concerned motorist

grabbed her shoulder bag

ran off laughing without any care or thought

calling the police went to her aid

soon police and ambulance crew on scene

to assist the petrified teen!

Another everyday violent public street scene

violence erupting with no warning

paramedics attended the innocent victim

knowing it could have been worse

the policewoman spoke kindly giving support

seeking clues for them to be caught!

A crowd grew cameras recorded the moment

her mum arrived to comfort her

but as she had sustained series facial injuries

was transported to hospital

her blood flowed washed into the storm drain

by the now torrential rain!

Soon there was no indication of the ordeal

just another statistic and person to heal!

Desolation Manor!

It was another working day for the carpenter

one of a group renovating a house

admittedly it was a big premises with a past

named oddly Desolation Manor

but he found himself uneasy being inside

afraid this he denied!

Here in an overgrown country park at dawn

arriving before anyone else

the manor looked more bleak on this day

very reluctant to go near

never liked working here standing outside

his time to bide!

All the while drawn to a mother and child

waiting at the main door

trying to turn away he heard a child laugh

nobody else was about

compelled to take another look that way

an empty doorway on display!

At last his fellow workers came down the drive

he felt very relieved

greeting each other they went into the dim hall

his job renovating the staircase

hearing their laughter echoing in the building

soon he had regret coming in!

Opening his tool box a loud sound up the stairs

instinctively glancing that way

a couple  argued where had they come from

the man pushed the female

falling violently down with a pitiful scream

blood flowed like a stream!

A child came into view kneeling by the body

sobbing holding a still hand

he jumped back in a spontaneous reaction

but nothing was visible

in a cold sweat he picked up his tool case

never returning to that place!

Nor dare to look back or speak of it again!
