No Warnings!

There were no warnings as the ground shook

furniture tipped over crockery smashed

panic overwhelmed the startled population

seemed too powerful for an after shock

wide cracks appeared in the fertile ground

rising up like a mass burial mound!

 

From that once stable happy environment

a good life of fun pleasure and unity

a heaven on earth without hate or violence

far from the despicable created misery

this community lived unnoticed in peace

until that moment hope did cease!

 

Had been said there were volcanoes beneath

but after so long complacency grew

until it was triggered and dreams were gone

just escaping the inferno as magnum

gushed into the fresh open air lava flowed

to all nearby no mercy was showed!

 

The destruction of the virtual reality society

instigated not only by mankind

but the might of an earth now fighting back

as unprecedented natural disasters

began to plague a weary battered civilization

into fearing this was damnation!

 

Humans thought they were in total control

found their part was only a minor role!

Free!

Within the once vast and open wilderness

where wild animals were free

passing their lives without intervention

from hunters and seekers of land

killing the prey for their breeds survival

fearing no human arrival!

 

No more their security and safety assured

as the numbers rapidly dwindle

some becoming extinct as the killing excels

left to die in agony and pain alone

poachers only interest the profits they make

not the misery they create!

 

The rich and ruthless have no mercy to give

for any destruction of animal life

nor the ever advancing human colonisation

and their shrinking habitation

creatures who should live and be protected

by many their rights not respected!

 

Man thinks on earth he is the superior being

not caring species are rapidly disappearing!

The Clearing!

The clearing was situated in a huge forest

the size of a football field

where nothing would grow not even grass

a substance like burnt soil

covered the entire sight nothing within

not even branches leant in!

 

A defined line like an invisible barrier

no living thing dare enter

accept for those curious adventurers

risking all for an answer

no matter what dangers were involved

an enigma to be solved!

 

Here two men now stood at the edge

apprehensive of entering

remembering accounts of witnesses

and what they had seen

their shaky voices and terrified eyes

they were telling no lies!

 

Bravely both walked into the expanse

that it had been said

held portals to many other dimensions

now empty and silent

their electromagnetic metres alarmed

were they to be harmed?

 

Vulnerable in the huge empty clearing

one saw a bright glow

orange in colour mesmerized moved

closer as it darted about

becoming perplexed as he tracked

his pace never slacked!

 

The other saw him dash away at a fast pace

seeing the orb change shape

but as they approached faded and vanished

both began to have dizzy spells

were truly scared sensing others around

jumped for the clearing exit bound!

 

Even this became a challenge muscles weak

their stamina and will drained

dark shapes coming from everywhere fell

with a hard thud onto grass

on the path they had arrived at the clearing

left more danger fearing!

 

Able to confirm a place of unexplained events

leaving reluctant to ever return!

 

Was it due to prior knowledge or the experience real?
