Grey Stallion!

It came to an abrupt halt a few feet ahead

snarling in a rage

sweat pouring from its dark grey skin

where had the creature come

eye to eye we firmly stood our ground

the presence did astound!

The emotion of fear was overwhelming

tendons and sinews taunt

my way upon the pathway was blocked

daring me to make a move

as though a burning hate at my presence

with this had to show reverence!

Man against this mighty formidable beast

as it rose on hind legs

towering over me in an aggressive manner

a humbling moment

stumbling back in worry of my existence

from me no chance of resistance!

Suddenly as it had begun the confrontation

subsided and became placid

the mighty grey stallion calmly backed away

bowing its head as is with respect

in an instance gone from my suspicious stare

of my vulnerability was aware!

An encounter that would linger within me forever!

Expression!

There was no expression on his unshaven face

no hint of what he would do

in the queue of a small busy provincial bank

to any trained observer

he was a suspicious character up to no good

rigid like a piece of wood!

It was if he was waiting for a particular moment

those by him started retreating

as if an instinct was warning them of a danger

from beneath his raincoat

menacingly brought out a twelve bore shot-gun

hitting a man trying to run!

Pushing customers aside who had not moved

pointed the weapon at the cashier

there were no security glass she faced a gun

aimed directly at her head

somehow keeping calm as he told her to fill

money sacks close to her till!

Grabbed the bags then fled towards the exit

a female accomplice remained

creating a diversion as security went to fire

racing through the sliding door

just as the alarm was raised by the shaken staff

safe let out a  triumphant laugh.

Briskly walking to a selected skip opening lid

took out a large hold all

from it removed a jacket put the money in

within seconds proceeded

with a changed image headed to the station

but still had trepidation.

Not wanting to be overconfident it went well

no sign of being followed

meeting his partner in crime and lovely wife

at a prearranged rendezvous

relaxing on the train hoping she was all right

their re-union always a delight.

On arrival at the seaside hotel it was too quiet

she had been compromised

keeping from view saw her waiting  nervously

a dark car outside watching

expecting this could happen he called a cab

with the intent his lady to nab!

knowing what to do came slowly out and walked

close to the hotel wall

saw the taxi arrive as she passed the door opened

a hand clutched her arm

and was now with her husband and drove away

to commit a crime another day!

His expression now showed plenty of emotion!

Jealousy!

Their relationship had been torn apart

by his growing jealousy

certain his childhood sweetheart shared

her love with another male

once the thoughts were embedded within

a brooding hate did begin!

Always that chance of a love turning sour

when two humans matched

trust can be a hard emotion to control

if their connection is frail

misunderstanding is a dangerous mood

where thoughts become crude!

From the passions of a close tender embrace

to the loathing of that person

where instead of wanting to love and protect

the wish is only for harm

as often those closest are the most feared

if  loving feelings disappeared!

This couple split with a misconstrued jealousy

the boyfriend assaulted a friend

accusing him of sleeping with his girlfriend

terminating in a jail sentence

ending his long relationship with his soul mate

realising the mistake too late!

There is only a silk thread between love and hate!

just one more human trait!
