Gathered!

The scientists gathered there to celebrate

with that satisfying smirk

their experiment was a certain success

or this was their conclusion

even though it was uncharted research

on a precipice man did perch!

 

As they celebrated nobody had noticed

one of their colleagues missing

last seen at the atomic particle collider

with the rest laughing hysterically

soon they noticed a strip of piercing light

their egos it would soon blight!

 

As a monstrous beast did enter our realm

seemingly through a portal

they had created the woman to disappear

it was assumed taken within

upon this world what had they unleashed

that devoured humans for its feast?

 

No more did they celebrate but soon fled

their reckless thirst for knowledge

had gone too far jeopardising all humanity

exploring what was not meant to be

spawned written on ancient tablets of stone

prophecy of beasts from the unknown!

 

End of days for the multitude of humankind

rise of an unspeakable evil

that has been thought of only as tales of doom

stories to fear but not real

been triggered by the nave scientific breed

who the warnings never did heed!

Crazy!

When the police shot the middle-aged man

they said he was crazy

just another unstable male out of control

not taking his medication

as two were killed plus him three survived

his acts not contrived!

 

But a psychologist was interested in the case

certain this was not the fact

suspicious with the urgency to close the files

risking his reputation and life

to search why they wanted no investigation

filled him with consternation!

 

On his own without any official permission

decided he had to dig deep

discovering there were far more incidents

each quickly dispatched

similar circumstances but females as well

on this fact did dwell!

 

Few he spoke to would divulge anything

a deep fear did prevail

an uneasiness grew sinister implications

men in dark suits everywhere

was he beginning to lose his own mind

now becoming intertwined!

 

Not being an investigator was hampered

creating  himself more danger

with no real proof  until someone spoke

informing they knew of a plot

and deep underground covert complicity

a top-secret conspiracy!

 

He was a scientist working on the project

rumoured to be involving

the military anon existent majestic twelve

soon after before corroboration

the contact was found dead in his own bed

suicide the newspapers said!

 

That sense of doom and dread struck him

the man had concluded

it was to enhance the activity of the brain

increasing power and strength

but project abandoned the official word

now he knew this was absurd!

 

For him it soon was the end of the road

his car in a police report

had swerved off a main road at speed

nobody else it seems involved

more likely eliminated we can conclude

dark elements his life pursued!

 

He had meddled in a secret that had to be kept!

Or is this just pure speculation?

Premonitions And Predictions!

Premonitions and predictions we have been told

throughout our short history

good ones giving us some hope of a future

but usually doom and destruction

wrath of the gods and man’s total demise

truth or fabricated lies?

 

Does it depend on how prophecies are  translated

as most are in code and vague

ambiguous where guesses can only be made

fitting more than one event!

experts tell of wars and horrors unrestricted

as Armageddon is always predicted!

 

No doubt it will transpire surely a logical fact

a massive event will occur

maybe by a humans ill thought out intervention

or natures unforgiving action

whatever we think dread or naturally fear

that day will eventually be here!

 

Has earth’s terminal date actually been predicted?

When it happens then no doubt we shall know!
