Hoax!

The actor was so thrilled to be offered a part

uneasy that two suited men

told him he had to sign a binding contract

no disclosure or go to prison

realised there was no choice had to agree

but offered him a huge fee!

 

Pressurised signed was told to wait for a call

they would not disclose details

life put on hold regretting that offer of work

could not contact the agency

what had he committed to it blew his mind

wishing time he could rewind!

 

Several days later his house phone rang

a voice gave a short message

outside ten minutes apprehension grew

picked up his bag and waited

at precisely the time stated a van arrived

from then on freedom was deprived!

 

A side door shot open abruptly told to enter

once inside the vehicle sped away

within not alone three other men squatted

nobody spoke on that journey

what seemed like hours being thrown about

he was filled with fear and doubt!

 

At last it stopped they were greeted by a man

smartly dressed and well spoken

apologised for covert action and no information

found themselves in a large hangar

on one side changing rooms and catering truck

it dawned on him here they were stuck!

 

It was cold as they were shown to a large room

chairs were placed facing a screen

sitting the smart man went to the front lingered

until they were all quietly seated

explained he was the director of this project

with those present was about to connect!

 

From behind them armed guards now entered

please do not be alarmed he said

they are here for our protection and security

you have been chosen to participate

in a conspiracy that must never be exposed

the screen lit up the secret was disclosed!

 

Images of a barren landscape was displayed

this is the set built-in this hangar

here the moon surface has been recreated

because we are going to hoax

for the want of a better word the moon landing

with astronauts on surface standing!

 

This is the first meeting of our brave flight crew!

The Location!

The location manager from the film company

had been tasked to find a property

and she did in a lonely part of the countryside

which fitted the requirements

uninhabited for years built-in its own grounds

no worry about modern day sounds!

 

Needed for the main set in a television movie

about a serial killers life

just another job finding what they needed

proud of her search skills

satisfied when she fulfilled her part of the plan

and the producer a happy man!

 

The day arrived for the crew to prepare the set

noticing how spacious and isolated

with the stark foreboding house in their sight

but with too much to prepare

got on with the lighting and dressing the set

a deadline for them had to be met!

 

Director and assistants were touring the building

even then while setting up

everybody was jittery and equipment was moved

or damaged inexplicably

experienced technicians were becoming bewildered

as a presence now stirred!

 

The large house was  to be the killers own home

where the murders occurred

it was ideal setting with the drab oppressive feel

what none of them had been told

in bizarre circumstances five people had died here

this fact was not made clear!

 

Actors were brought from make up for rehearsal

it started well until action call

the sound crackled and screaming was recorded

as the main lighting lamp exploded

showering them with hot glass creating a mess

and unbelievable stress!

 

It was only by luck everybody was only shaken

not a single person hurt

as they checked to see if it action had been caught

on the monitors in another room

by the two actors a woman came into the shot

now baffled at what they got!

 

She was certainly not seen by anyone at the time

the building was evacuated

security did a sweep to see if there were intruders

at the bottom of the stairs

heard a thud and cry as if somebody had tumbled

and at the feet were crumbled!

 

Nothing was there though a dark stain appeared

outside the director paced

urgently considering what was their next move

contacting the film’s producer

at that moment from an upper window they saw

a person each felt dread and awe!

 

This was short lived as the window smashed

and a figure hurtled to the ground

it was real one of the crew lay at their feet

assuming everyone was out

in the panic a full head count was not done

not realising a missing one!

 

The film crew had never felt so close before

there was nothing else to do

but cancel the shoot and get away from here

the county authorities called

in tears and shock retreated to the canteen tent

their colleague to lament!

 

From a far as they could be looked at the mansion

a cover now over the body

here for less than a day and filming now stopped

yet already in the director’s mind

this would make a great movie on another day

for now in his mind the idea must stay!

 

A year later the film of a serial killer was completed

becoming a financial success

but the director had himself written another script

researching the horror residence

intending to return it had to be made convincing

any misgivings dismissing!

 

He returned with a new crew and a paranormal team

this time the experience was far more extreme!

 

But that is another story to tell! Did it end well?
