Learnt!

They each learnt that day the hard way

maybe their homes were not the best

nor parents who cared what they did

from each other found that support

egging them on to violate others lives

with despicable disregard for feelings

not caring what property was damaged

or those innocent people they outraged!

 

Well known for their anti-social behaviour

that was escalating into brutality

certain nothing could stop their rampage

met at the park to drink and smoke

weed shouting felt they were invincible

knew an elderly man lived close by

throwing stones at his windows for fun

but this day their rampage would be done!

 

Within this house there was an evil entity

that wanted to take his soul and escape

its eternal imprisonment on this ground

the old man was aware of its presence

but was strong in his stubborn resistance

but hatred at the torment of the juveniles

his will gone they would lose their smiles!

 

The group jeered throwing anything at hand

as part of their nightly ritual onslaught

they could see him sitting near the window

which excited their lust for blood even more

coming boldly to the glass and banging

saw him slowly slump onto the frayed carpet

for a second silent then a cheer of celebration

mercilessly with contempt at his desecration!

 

Thinking it best to scarper from this crime scene

as sirens could be heard approaching

but found they were paralysed unable to escape

heard a door open and forced to turn

there stood the old man grinning eyes pitch black

helpless were forced in they had no comeback!

 

As the police arrived expecting the unruly youths

were surprised to see the house on fire

soon the fire brigade arrived discovering inside

just one body of the owner nobody else

even after witnesses told them what they had seen

the group were never ever seen again

no clues of the mysterious disappearances detected

the truth of what happened no one suspected!

 

The house was renovated but tenants would not stay

always saying something unseen inside did prey!
