The Cruise Liner!

The cruise liner set sail on her maiden voyage

after many mishaps and accidents

that could not be easily explained as natural

or that several crew were missing

all the searches had failed to find any clues

not a problem in the owners views!

The truth was suppressed profit came first

their overheads were high

opting for a private detective  on board

to carry out a quiet investigation

he brought his fiance for help and support

in finding answers they sought!

Trouble started not long after leaving port

equipment was malfunctioning

passengers said their cabins were in a mess

everything inside thrown around

what could cause these unexplained events

their task becoming immense!

The evening set in a warm night was icy cold

one engine ceased to function

as Taylor and J’s cabin was on lower a deck

yet tapping and voices they heard

which seemed to be coming from far below

where only crew would go!

The detective gave a long worried stare at J

who had been researching

records of this luxury liner to find clues

discovering many fitments

were from another decommissioned ship

badly damaged on its last trip!

Now broken up it had a very bad history

and was thought of as cursed

records from further back were missing

this ship was almost a replica

for some reason the problem transferred

at first this did sound absurd!

They tried to make contact with the captain

who knew their identity

but the internal telephones didn’t work

then a violent shudder

threw them at the now open cabin door

falling into the corridor

Panic filled their minds yet it was too quiet

a lone woman was there

pale and sombre asked them to follow her

taking them downwards

But they had no intention of going that way

or with their lives they’d pay!

Somehow they arrived on the promenade deck

people were hanging over the side

lifeboats dangled as passengers scrambled

to get off this huge ship

like cartoon characters put on a drawn set

ghostly figures in silhouette!

Neither had an inkling of what was happening

a sensation it was behind (more…)
