Help!

Knew he was just one of the herd

nothing special so true

never be a big well-known star

in his lifetime never go far

just wanted to help his children

keep away from the villain

in a society that is often corrupt

where man and nature erupt!

 

Violence surrounds us at every turn

endless war a big concern

crimes upon the individual increase

as our rights ever decrease

more struggling to make ends meet

as more sleep on the street

as public services are drastically cut

and needed facilities shut!

 

Pressure on the population growing

strain on their lives showing

the billionaires flaunt their life style

many find it harder to smile

as governments become less united

peace and harmony are blighted

more worry for their children’s safety

authorities show complacency!

 

Around us can we often sense suspicion

as like this father on a mission

being aware trying to give that support

as the young are often caught

in this cycle bombarded with imagery

disturbing and full of treachery

we all should fear what we are not told

believe what has been foretold!

 

Much a mystery for millennia nothing is new!

Concern!

Surely this must be of great concern now

to our very existence on earth

that it has been reported of the extinction

of billions of animal species

insects and plankton gone at a rapid rate

yet do you here of this debate?

 

How often do you see variety of butterflies

that were part of our summers

bumblebees and endless varieties of birds

are becoming less visible now

occasionally it is reported of birds falling

from the sky dead appalling!

 

Fish to wash up on beaches rivers and lakes

no explanation it is said found

but this is happening on an increasing scale

as more are becoming extinct

what has caused these catastrophic events

the implications to us so immense!

 

Unexplained phenomenon is being reported

but is the truth being distorted?

Before The Nation!

Before the nation many have volunteered

to join military forces

fighting for Queen and country in wars

proud to serve until death

facing many different enemies they went

with honour and good intent!

 

Politicians controlled them like chess pawns

dispensable in action

no thought for precious loyal fighting men

serving in appalling conditions

families waiting in constant concern at home

as into the abyss they roam!

 

There with comrades violence all around

often with devastating odds

campaigns of battle rage on into infinity

ravaging the once innocent

becoming oblivious in time to the carnage

as the spirit fills with rage!

 

Exhausted their courage can never be denied

against all odds heads held high with pride!
