True Love!

He had waited it seemed so long for love

then his heart pounded

at an office party found himself drawn

to a very alluring lady

had never seen her before this night

beautiful a pure delight!

 

They talked and danced until early light

they were meant to be

eventually parted after a passionate kiss

confirming their second date

over the next few months love bloomed

he was unaware it was doomed!

 

At the start all was a life of magical bliss

within a month moving in

love-making was good yet it felt wrong

she acted too clinical

soon noticed she did not eat anything

or drink alarm bells did ring!

 

From that initial attraction suspicion grew

there was a coldness

he had not noticed before becoming wary

yet she looked so perfect

decided it best to end this strained affair

his life with her could not share!

 

Why had he got that reluctance to explain

why his feelings had changed

but summing up the courage now spoke

she seemed more distant

as they sat together on the large settee

he just wanted to be free!

 

From being truly elated he had found love

to dumping the stunning woman

but he had become terrified being close

after the words were spoken

her mood changed and the reply stark

as venomous words it did spark!

 

Without emotion said he could not leave

had never loved a human before

was an android living within our society

he was shaken to the core

got up to escape this beast foolishly said

its hand hit his head!

 

Down in the busy street a body battered

on the pavement spattered!

 

He never did find his true Love!

Deserted!

The reporter was reluctant to enter the building

where a young woman was killed

during an investigation of the derelict property

from a news television station

had been tasked with following up the awful event

for a prime time news segment!

 

Silhouetted behind her was the derelict structure

the camera zoomed in exposing it

as the lone figure could be seen to be petrified

smiling as only a professional can

talking with faltered steps drew closer to the abyss

wishing this task she could miss!

 

One other with her a cameraman their satellite truck

was parked some distance away

cost cutting meant no engineer was not standing by

the paranormal team were late

so under instruction proceeded into the blackness

surely this was madness!

 

The only light provided by the camera’s bright beam

followed their journey down

dust filled the air soon they entered the very room

where it was alleged the girl died

several doorless entrances seemed like an eerie void

or had it made them paranoid?

 

Broken masonry and glass crunched under their feet

as they shuffled around the room

first a deep moan is picked up on the mike they hear

terror is clearly etched on her face

as the camera picks out a shape but on another sweep

nothing there composure hard to keep!

 

As a voice is heard the reporter smiles calls to somebody

telling the audience of the late arrival

but before this person can make it down to give support

there is a long growl and the girl stares

directly at the camera letting out a scream the feed lost

as the cameraman she did accost!

 

He went on filming as she then pushed by falling down

hitting her head with bleeding wound

lay mumbling with eyes open wide and dribbling

as if possessed the paranormal member

came and helped get her outside to their parked van

sorry he was late not the plan!

 

Shaking out of breath the camera operator rewound

the video tape to the frame

where the newscaster freaked ending up collapsed

shocked to see in a wall mirror

a devil figure glaring back horns and flaming eyes

staring the image him did mesmerize!

 

Never felt so unclean or fear for himself and colleague

with whom also was in a relationship

leaving the investigator to look after Julie drove away

at speed to get to the medical center

with the uncomfortable sensation the evil had come to

a coldness within the van grew!

Eruption!

It had been warned over centuries the eruption

of a volcano under a park

the surface the outer crust of a bubbling inferno

where animals freely roamed

experts with conflicting opinions and scenarios

whether or not the lava blows!

 

Speculation of a day animals stampeding in panic

heading out of the national park

earth tremors shaking the ground as tensions rose

the area  about to explode

every roadway and tracks becoming thermogenic

humidity steaming and thick!

 

A vast landscape of mountains and sloping forests

deep lakes with rolling plains

it would be devastation if the eruption did befall

in this wondrous locality

those who lived around the park contemplated

were their futures fated?

 

On a warm summers day it began the sun rising

the dew quickly evaporating

a wonderful scene to gaze upon a normal day

though faint tremors

hardly noticeable in the beginning escalated

swiftly became unabated!

 

It soon became apparent that the unthinkable

a long predicted eruption

of  this picturesque national park had begun

it was known the surface

was the vast crust covering the volcanoes top

and lava nothing could stop!

 

Years of planning made evacuation much easier

but the scale unprecedented

fast flowing molten lava and gases accelerated

overtaking those fleeing

a huge black cloud ascended into the clear sky

and light to man did deny!

 

Lava swallowed up land or it crumbled away

the once idyllic views lost

an enduring darkness and coldness began

spreading around the globe

humanity would have to battle nature as one

for its survival to be won!

 

Could this scenario happen it seems very possible!
