Rang!

For the first time had not switched her cell phone off

a late night with friends was so tired

just fell on the bed and remembered nothing until

the ring tone rang loudly by her head

she thrust out her arms knocking it out of her reach

went back to sleep dreaming of a sandy beach!

That was short lived as the cell phone rang once more

this time woke with her head banging

followed the sound peeved picked it up and answered

at first silence then a growl greeted her

reeling back dropped it switching on the bedside light

bewildered by this odd event!

Grabbed the pillow and hugged it tightly afraid to move

as it rang just stared at the flashing screen

without anything touching it the call was connected

a voice called her name ‘Ally I can see you!’

looking all around  could see nobody she shrieked

from her urethra the urine leaked!

The telephone clicked off yet felt a presence was here

frozen could not even cry out

her throat seemed dry and swollen there was no saliva

before she could ring her friend

it rang again staring at it could not move a muscle

from under the bed heard a rustle!

The phone answered itself and the voice even more sinister

said You are nice I want to be with you”

at that very moment two long bony hands gripped her duvet

at the end of the bed then a head

rose bald large bulging eyes a grey body the thing squatted

the flesh looked as if it had rotted!

With nowhere to go the young lady stared back helplessly

just said “Hello! the phone rang once more

could just make out her friends name Jane on the screen

but this thing made a terrifying yell

before leaping her life at that moment had gone forever

her blood spattered by arterial pressure!

A few hours later her friend came in upon the horror scene

just saw the bloody mess where Ally had been!

Ran out never to return Jane’s remains  were never found!

Hand In Hand!

Held hands bewildered at what surrounded them

shocked covered in thick dust

could only hold on to each other both survived

the huge blast that killed so many

children that did not understand such carnage

or how adults had such rage!

In their short lives had only ever known destruction

warfare that took families forever

born into the putrid odours of death cries of anguish

that never ending wail of mourning

funerals and standing by grave sides of  loved ones

and choking smoke filling their lungs!

Now they were alone their home and parents murdered

as a missile struck their only sanctuary

while both outside the explosion shattered many lives

parents and grandparents a brother to

lost evermorer being so young just could not understand

as together stood hand in hand!

Never!

Never being on time getting up ever later

the excuse today to cold

eventually his partner placed cold feet

on his back he soon got up

realising it was later now he had to rush

leaving the house in a hush.

Forgot to put the car in the large garage

was covered in a thick frost

swearing under his breath it was his fault

now he was definitely late

turning the ignition key it would not start

then an explosion blew it apart!

From her slumber the wife abruptly roused

into a nightmare of reality

glass flying across the large front bedroom

their two children crying

not understanding what caused the havoc

sadly there was no turning back!

Struggling to stand her feet cut and bleeding

glanced out acrid smoke rose

she saw the flames and burning wrecked car

but had to be with the children

holding back the tears she knew he was dead

glanced at the double bed!

In their room the children cowered bewildered

running up to their mother

almost knocking her to the ground gripping tight

there they stayed for some time

then the expected knock on the door she knew

for Josh nothing could they do!

Her husband had been a soldier only a year before

the army and civilian police

were investigating who could have been involved

but their lives had to continue

they could not stay in that house not safe any more

the memories forever raw!
