Began!

Even approaching her electric car

that buzzing sound began

a powerful charge threw her back

bright specs of light darting

rapidly all around her visual field

to its power had to yield!

 

Stunned lay upon the dank tarmac

of the large car park

could not understand the cause

other shoppers helped

concerned at this unusual event

what was this torment?

 

Almost immediately it escalated

the electricity arced

connecting with lighting towers

plus cell like poles

that were closely situated nearby

birds fried flying by!

 

Patterns sparking above their heads

the charge crackled

smell of burning ozone as it ignited

as anything electrical

ceased to function and a grid created

a new power base activated!

 

From that day forth the vast population

filled with fear and damnation!

Unnatural!

He was only thirty-two when he disappeared

from society loved and respected

devoted in his research of the paranormal

part of an investigation team

of the occult and aliens who explored together

properties or sites said to be haunted

by evil spirits or strange creatures or beings

that many reluctantly admitted seeing!

 

Had uncovered connections between aliens

and governments hidden agenda

delving into it with his usual enthusiasm

made his friends begin to worry

especially those who ventured out with him

to known and unknown UFO hotspots

on this particular trip he decided to go ahead

as the area was dangerous to tread!

 

A message said he had arrived and to meet

at a diner a few miles to the east

they had all their equipment in their truck

departed their base at twenty thirty

could not make any contact after that time

on arrival his car was not there

nerves were jangling so they decided travel

to the location the riddle to unravel!

 

This was a risk as it was a military owned site

no unauthorised personnel allowed

with caution they neared the forbidden zone

to their horror found his vehicle

burnt out still smouldering in the desert sand

yet of him they found no sign

but could see three lights in the clear starry sky

of human origin would have to deny!

 

Wanting to search the area but this was hampered

as vehicle headlights came into range

their own safety was now at risk so had to leave

with a deep sadness headed home

with no explanation of  what had happened here

or where their close friend had gone

no matter how they tried information was denied

what secrets from us all do they hide?

 

The unnatural mystery still remains until this day

but the group continue to carry on the fray!

Exposed!

The wind lashed with force across the land

which exposed the metal cover

covertly hidden from any human curiosity

on restricted military land

where lethal chemicals were secretly stored

the public would be appalled!

 

Underneath a large concrete and steel base

nuclear weapons there as well

primed ready for an immediate deployment

and facilities for an army

guarded twenty four seven through the year

a secret facility so near!

 

A vast complex not designed for public use

now had a raging fire

evacuation plans immediately set in motion

to clear the population

as it was becoming an unavoidable holocaust

where thousands could be lost!

 

Though their biggest worry was the radiation

if the missiles were ignited

a story not far from the real frightening truth

was broadcast as army and police

started the evacuation as the fire was fought

knowing the situation was fraught!

 

Even as the people were forced from the area

the first explosion came

that showered the air with the deadly radiation

followed by lethal chemicals

there was no chance for the fleeing population

as it spread all over the nation!

 

News agencies reported a major chemical blast

had left hundreds dead

with countless numbers also critically injured

a state of emergency declared

the authorities deception was firmly in place

once more deceiving the human race!

 

From then on martial law was upon us imposed

with a traumatized nation ruled unopposed!

Base!

The soldier sat on duty in the guard hut

trying to stay awake

certainly would be in trouble if caught

this a classified base

where many strange items were stored

he was safe they assured!

 

A large object had been delivered recently

covered in tarpaulin sheets

by hooded figures in unmarked uniforms

in the night brought it in

remembering seeing lights moving about

taught not to feel doubt!

 

He knew it was another craft from the stars

this was not the first delivered

to this covert military facility hidden here

out in the barren desert

far away from the public’s inquisitive stare

and media who were well aware!

 

Alone with only his thoughts for company

daring not to speculate

what was far below the ground in storage

or the research being done

he was a private in the military police unit

to protect at all costs his remit!

 

Tonight had a gut feeling it would not be quiet

there had been much activity

preparing for the first perimeter patrol an alert

received an urgent message

on the radio the main fence had been breached

for his side arm he reached!

 

As he prepared to go the rest of the team arrived

in their pick up trucks

just as an explosion came from the base offices

that lead to the facility

glowing objects zoomed in from the dark skies

the action a complete surprise!

 

Within one minute reached the reported section

the ground on fire but no tracks

even more military personnel now assembled

word came of  ferocious action

in the huge laboratories and hangars beneath

the innocent sprawling heath!

 

As they raced towards the unknown enemy

frantic voices warned stay back

as a massive explosion ripped the site apart

brining them to sudden stop

from out of the flames pulsating  orbs flew

making a spectacular view.

 

They were not fired on which made no sense

an odd sort of alien  invasion

even though missiles were quickly deployed

though none actually hit

the soldier wondered what had just happened

was this a start or the end?

 

Instead of fighting their task became rescue

and evacuating survivors

followed by a major clamp down of the site

information was very sparse

but he heard it was a breakout from within

of creatures with grey skin!

 

What secrets was he part of hiding here

this was the first time he felt fear!

Power!

Above our heads and below our feet

electricity surges onward

power lines linked like huge arteries

giving life to a rising public

increasing demand for easy existence

could end without resistance!

 

Man never stable nor servile creatures

always wanting to dominate

all other species living on this planet

like gods in his approach

not respecting earth his only base

as more dangers we face!

 

Continuous conflicts and power struggles

drastically divides rich and poor

greed tribal violence and sectarian hate

that power starts to falter

resources are dwindling as the need rises

a future filled with bad surprises!

From The Edge!

From the edge of the provincial airport

for decades reported sightings.

Of lights activity and unusual sounds

revving engines and voices.

Nothing on the runway could be seen

many felt something had been!

 

Few houses were nearby just open fields

surrounded the neglected site.

Grass grew through tarmac and cement

a long time since any action.

Or the tread of rubber or booted feet

and gardens once so neat.

 

Though visitors said they felt a vibration

as if there was life present!

Each sure there they were not alone

and unable to stay long.

A paranormal group decided explore

behind each rotting door!

 

It had been a world war two bomber base

that had seen much tragedy.

Comrades and planes that never returned

or died when trying to land!

Crashing exploding into ferocious flames

that trauma and pain still remains!

 

Into this deeply sad and charged atmosphere

the investigators dared to enter!

Instantly sounds voices and a green mist

their EMF meters went off the scale.

There was no chance to set up equipment

as a phantom plane was in descent!

 

The group was hounded by phenomena

nothing so vivid seen before.

A female member screamed it went silent

stunned they moved back!

To assess what each had just observed

judgement would be reserved.

 

Overwhelmed certain they were unprepared

deciding to leave early that night!

Knowing without doubt it was haunted here

but even as they retreated.

Everyone heard marching crisp and clear

each experienced fear!

 

Leaving the site scared yet wanting to return
