Seek!

Had been so excited to be there

really bleak and derelict

was my first visual impression

had been an investigator

with the group for a short while

their purpose to seek

any evidence that shed light

that gave people a fright!

 

Allocated to take a walk around

soon regretting eagerness

though it was light felt on edge

even with a two way radio

this could not ease the dread

rumors of deaths within

many entering never seen again

my focus hard to maintain!

 

Entered an upstairs room a touch

upon my warm hand

so cold then a child’s laugh heard

a small figure nearby

shuddered unable to comprehend

what had transpired

contacted base to report and help

a loud tap made me yelp!

 

A pain on the left side of the neck

must leave this room

meeting a team member outside

coming to assist

suddenly the house became alive

as floorboards creek

excitement at the monitor station

objects move no explanation!

 

Reviewing camera footage its heard

a faint child like laugh

on close examination were deep red

scratches visibly seen

drawing blood what had interacted

everyone was highly charged

what really is here embedded within

as the night vigils did begin!
