I can remember when it was fun and less traffic on the now crowded roads! The Foureyed Poet.

The Foureyed Poet

Bumper to bumper traffic each day crawls along

frustration and tempers rise as time goes by

cyclist and motor bikes weave their way

amongst the cars as drivers shout out abuse

vans four by fours bully their way through

as big lorries loom into your view!

Dwarfing your car you  feel intimidated

these monsters everywhere are hated!

More roads are built crisscrossing the land

ever-increasing motor cars are produced

prices soaring struggling to be independent

but public transport costs forever surge

for most living made harder to maintain

even basic standards difficult to sustain!

Speed cameras photograph your every move

motorists have no rights to disapprove

fewer police to enforce or protect our roadways

gone those once pleasant travelling days!

The Foureyed Poet.
