Synthetic Beings!

They were warned but of course never listened

that to develop synthetic beings

could lead to mankind becoming an obsolete item

scientist full of self-gratification

resolute to create artificial intelligence proceeded

telling us they were needed!

 

Excitement mounting as they became more human

made to move and act like us

even more terrifying able to think much quicker

and retain endless knowledge

they can surpass even the cleverest scientific brain

allowing this how insane!

 

Certainly not long before they were integrated

into an unstable society

very short lived the synthetic beings accepted

there was suspicion and dread

initially invented for a subservient role at first

soon their kind we did curse!

 

Able to live with repairs forever no human mess

this creation of mankind

soon treating humans as inferior co-habitants

upon a planet they once ruled

outcast and unwanted now the wars had begun

few living when the fighting was done!

 

Too rapid for counter measures we took their place

our own creation to the death had to face!
