Why could neither of us see

how we hurt each other so

she did not understand me

did we honestly both know

what either of us wanted of life

was I the right one for her

then to quickly becoming my wife

could we be happy year upon year

there was a build up of tension

wanting happiness not any fears

the future filled with apprehension

it felt uneasy and a lot of tears

up tight when we did not recognize

little communication this a sad fact

tried to aim to be truthful no lies

reflecting neither had much tact

already had kids began taking sides

being important to me in every way

soon a jealousy caused wide divides!

My second marriage filled with doubt

made worse when we had a child

within only a few years had to bail out

as days became less when we smiled
