Embedded!

Embedded on an ancient stone monument

an unusual symbol was clear

though worn down with the passing of time

close to a small stone circle

there was a feeling of enchantment within

and prickling on your skin!

 

Invisible to our peripheral vision illusions

surrounded our small group

it was like a gathering of robed figures were

trapped within these boundaries

laughter wafted on air trapped in this space

centre of an ancient power base!

 

Overwhelming and wonderful but suspicious

uncertain of what we had found

cautiously moving about ancient monoliths

more symbols were clearly seen

showing wizard like figures in pointed hats

wands in hand and wide-eyed cats!

 

An ancient cult of sorcerers once gathered here

not a destructive force

but a magical supernatural presence held

for centuries in the circle

still living on in another plain of existence

for eternity the possibility immense!

 

Where it seemed to retain a spiritual purity

that each could embrace

the longer their stay the harder to leave

this energy being absorbed

long dormant emotions began to emerge

through a metaphysical surge!

 

The sense of being themselves engulfed inside

together knew they had to leave

with an enormous combined strength escaped

back into reality of  present day

in wonder knowing what they had discovered

reluctant it would be uncovered!

 

But they knew within them the change had begun!
