Relaxing!

My days are often spent simply relaxing

drinking coffee in a cafe

watching life pass me at a super pace

something that’s not easy

as there’s no doubt I was born lethargic

silly things I’ve done thick!

Always a pen and paper close to my hand

writing has kept me  sane

of course had to work not being a prodigy

playing with words always fun

there’s a question I’ve pondered forever

it’s not profound or clever!

I admit I’m not really a catch for the ladies

bald a beard and a wrinkly

short hairy legs and rather rotund shape

so without any delusions

my innocent observations and amazement

all seem to be content!

I see nice females with rather rough men

tenderly staring at each other

laughing and giggling holding hands tight

is it love or friendship found

true married twice many decades ago

not even a companion to show!

Scientist seek answers of great magnitude

but I still unable to fathom

also why do these couples sit close to my spot

all I can do is politely smile

occasionally it would be nice if somebody spoke

honestly I’m a real nice bloke.

  1. I could totally see myself in the first half of this poem. The second half was funny and intriguing. You painted a funky-cool picture with your words. 🙂

  2. Keep smiling 🙂
