Bleary Eyed!

A car slowly drove into the small square

eight bungalows situated there.

Elderly residents dwelled within the walls

stopping outside number two.

Four sat bleary-eyed one a teenage girl

the smoke did thickly swirl!

For a laugh decided to come here for fun

decided to come for a run.

Their eyes drawn to the place next door

all they could see was a shape.

Not bothered they were being observed

making themselves heard!

Started throwing their rubbish all about

having fun no doubt.

Expecting police would have been called

it was part of the buzz.

None of them cared who they agitated

the excitement it accelerated!

Drinking and smoking no intention to go

like putting on a show.

But their gaze drawn back to the window

to the silhouette there.

A chill surged threw their bodies it was clear

time to get out of here!

A presence they could not really understand

was very close at hand!

The Foureyed Poet.
