Cornfield!

In the cornfield that seemed so still

gently blowing in a summer breeze

a scene that was suddenly shattered

as military helicopters buzzed above

in this idyllic place  it was totally new

it intrigued me as a fear steadily grew!

In front of the helicopter there was a light

moving with intelligence near the ground

observed at every turn as it darted about

another helicopter then came into view

but they had no chance in keeping near

inferior technology that was clear!

Noise and fumes filled the darkening air

the object swept so close to the ground

it was unreal as the display went on

then the light shot over a lone tractor

as the early dawn came upon the site

revealing what was hidden by night!

In the virgin field where nobody had been

a crop circle had clearly appeared

the area surreal and ghostly quiet

standing stunned with an inquisitive stare

what had I seen in that lonely place

was it an alien craft from outer space?

Had it formed the magnificent intricate pattern?
