There comes a time when we take an overview
at our own existing fragile mortality.
Conflicts come and go in this short span
many die too early others not soon enough.
Diseases illness and accidents to name a few
none of us know when our tickets due.
We are born into a world of multi cultures
with different standards and influences.
Some have a wealthy style without hardship
or an average up bringing taking the knocks.
Many have lives of disrespect with no care
whoever we are the same end we share.
But at the final post for all there is a limit
long or short the moment is rarely welcome.
Often a terrible blow that is hard to accept
as the cycle goes on without judgement.
Most hope good memories are left behind
done their best but most of all been kind.
A friend of mind has had so many health problems over the last eighteen months. And was starting slowly to recover. A people person who loves to be in company and is dearly loved by all who know him. Now he has been told he has a brain tumour, a shattering blow. But it has made me think of my own mortality. None of us know what is around the corner of life for each of us. I do try to be cheerful and enjoy each day. How else can we truly embrace our short existence? I hope my friend will overcome his latest battle. Something I am sure most dread being told you have cancer! And pray we never get, my thoughts are with him and his family. The saying ‘There for the Grace of GOD go I’ sums up my feelings. ‘ Life can be a wonderful gift or a living nightmare.’
The Foureyed Poet.
I try to make my life a gift for myself and others around me.
Thanks for sharing.
